A dilemna--the coolest lego collection...
« on: August 30, 2007, 12:58:24 am »
I saw this on craigslist.com and I WANTED it. I wanted it so bad. It's got every set I don't have. Pirate ships, pirate ships, and more pirate ships, plus some sets from before I was born. The Lego System product lines, a boxful of accessories for minifigures, TONS of minifigures, and a few boxes full of legos separated by color.

Sadly, the guy will part with them for only $2000. Take a look.

(Lego pieces separated by color in 9 boxes)

(Baseplates)

(Baseplates, train tracks, boat hulls, and partially assembled sets #1)
(Baseplates, train tracks, boat hulls, and partially assembled sets #2)

(Minifigures #1)
(Minifigures #2)
(Minifigures #3)
(Minifigures #4)

(Accessories and minifigures in two separate boxes)

(Canvas for ships)

(Instructions #1)
(Instructions #2)
(Instructions #3)
(Instructions #4)
(Instructions #5)

And here's a list of sets that have instructions also:

10036, 8812, 8808, 8223, 8022, 7171, 7161, 7140, 7134, 7131, 7128, 7104, 7101, 6983, 6973, 6956, 6939, 6923, 6899, 6898, 6898, 6896, 6889, 6889, 6887, 6886, 6879, 6879, 6879, 6878, 6856, 6856, 6854, 6852, 6852, 6836, 6835, 6834, 6832, 6815, 6815, 6814, 6814, 6812, 6811, 6799, 6799, 6765, 6761, 6755, 6748, 6714, 6673, 6639, 6614, 6596, 6595, 6581, 6566, 6566, 6562, 6551, 6544, 6518, 6517, 6516, 6511, 6491, 6484, 6445, 6444, 6431, 6346, 6336, 6336, 6324, 6296, 6289, 6289, 6285, 6280, 6280, 6277, 6271, 6268, 6264, 6264, 6262, 6261, 6258, 6246, 6244, 6236, 6234, 6232, 6195, 6175, 6155, 6135, 6125, 6115, 6115, 6115, 6089, 6083, 6054, 6046, 6045, 6044, 6027, 6009, 5975, 5918, 5542, 4970, 4950, 4728, 4561, 4022, 3409, 3408, 1890, 1889, 1888, 1887, 1843, 1822, 1806, 1804, 1789, 1762 1762, 1721, 1720, 1711, 1630, 1611, 1480, 1479, 1478, 1477, 1354, 1352, 715, 715

It's more than $3,800 but that's a fair asking price.

I'm thinking about taking him in a fight to bludgeon each other to death with sticks, instead of paying through the nose.

I have the original Black Falcon Fortress set. Very cool. Right now, it's a fortified bank of Lego Town. =)

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

I always loved playing with the minifigures.
I never had enough of them, I could do wonders with all of those things.

I wanted them because they're old, and about 10x better than the new crap they make.

Pirate ships vs. Ninja Fortresses? Hell yeah.

What if those crates are only 1 inch deep.

Then you have no depth perception. I'm 100% sure they go in a few more inches.

the train set sucked, totally overratted.

I have boxloads of stuff, it isn't really organized. But my brother had one of those ships, and he put all the guns and shit he could on it, it was great.

I never follow instructions.  I always build with my head

computer-generated dream world built to keep us
under control in order to - wait, what?"

Here's an archive where you can enter in the serial number you have on your sets. It also lists the parts included in the set, and has some instructions you can download if you lose it, and will also bring up a domain that sells that particular set if you wanted to buy it.

All in all, very cool.

Fixed.

Oh, and Legos go double their original price when they have been pulled off the Lego Merchandising market and is in low quantity.

I have a complete Lego set from 1988, and it would sell about $75. It was originally $4.50...

So think about that when you look at your Johnny Thunder sets.

My legos are scattered throughout the house. But I haven't even gotten ONE set from the Wild West or the Pirate set. Not. One. Set.
