Driver Testing
« on: August 31, 2007, 12:27:27 pm »
So yeah...  I went for my license test today, and I forget a few things, like signals at awkward places, etc...  minor stuff.  Apparently 2 km/h over the speed limit is a "Major Violation"  That caused me to fail...  Now, my mom is all mad because she got hers on the first try, and I didn't.  Saying I'm wasting her time and money.  I don't like driving, but it's REALLY hard to live a semi-civilized life without a license.

Any of you guys feel what I'm saying?  Like, did you fail a couple times?  Cause I feel l;ike crap thanks to my mom. >_<

A friend of mine failed his about 6 to 8 times before he actually got it. Not many ppl actually get it the first time.

My bro got it the first time, so I need to do well when I take it.

You should feel like crap because it costs a hundred bucks to take the test. You really did waste her time and money.

Lol, I'm too lazy to have even started that home-driver's-ed thing. <__>

Back in the 50's or whenever my dad took the test there were four-five people in a bubble car taking turns driving every 15th minute. Any knucklehead could pass considering there were hardly any laws back then. I'd bet it was similar with your mum.

Wow, only 2km/h over, that's like... 1.5 mph over, wow that's strict. Don't feel TOO bad, nobody's perfect, but yeah you wasted money. GJ
And for 6th, yeah your right it was way easier.

A friend got his drivers license and lost it 8 days later for going against a red light. Then 6months later he was allowed to do it again and he got it a second time on his first try.

I've been practising all this summer in Poland but I couldn't find more time here in Sweden when school was about to start so I'll have to wait :/

I'm on my G1 (Ontario/Canadian driving system) right now, I'll be eligible for my G2 in March or April... G1 was a written test, G2 and G tests are road tests. Driving is very easy, it's just remembering every little legal detail like lights or small things, etc. is the hard part. I think you don't have to pay full price if you retake it, right?

Lol i failed on my first try, because I didnt check my blind spot when merging into a freaking left turning lane. I mean c'mon! no one checks their blind spot >_>
Dont worry! Failing your test is natural, especially since driving in a city/suburb is extremely boring.

btw where do you live? I live in the USA.

I failed my first one, I ran a redlight.... I thought I could make it, but I guess I didn't hit the gas fast enough. Alot of people fail at first, my sister failed at parallel parking before she even got onto the road her first time. I can't laugh at her... I hate parallel parking and barely got it for the test. Those things are always stressful though. If your mom gets pissy just ignore her, she probably sucks at driving anyway. I have seen my fair share of female drivers and none of them I willingly ride with.

You should feel like crap because it costs a hundred bucks to take the test. You really did waste her time and money.
it depends on the state how much it costs.  In NY the first 2 or 3 tries are free.

I failed my first test because I hit the curb while parallel parking.  The woman had me parallel park on a hill and I was taking the test in a stick :-/

I ran into a cone before I got out of the lot and immediately failed my first test. Passed the second shot.
