Personal Clans ftw00t
« on: September 03, 2007, 02:58:04 am »
Hey :D

It's me Mitak and I'm going to present you my new useless topic.

Nowadays almost every member has a personal clan. Now you're gonna ask "WTF d00d w00t do yo mean?"
Ima tell yoz: I mean that a mass of players have, in a point of their Net Life, created a clan in Soldat. It's useless unless you are preparing something BIG. Lemme tell you that your clan (For example [TheShortNickClanFTW] or [Teh Noisy Killer's]) won't exist for too long if you haven't calculated it all in advance.
Yeah it's so easy to create a clan, isn't it? All you need is a rainy/cold winter day and a good Internet connection.
You also need fools to sign up for your clan. If you create this clan without knowing that you're a good leader in advance, just don't waste your time. Clan maintenance is a lot of work and requires help from a friend or two.
When we're talking about something big: You need someone to make the clan site (This may be done by you), you will also find that the forum is helpful too. But to handle THAT with a lot of users, you need moderators. And as hell these moderators have to be trusted and proven. If not, you will experience a collapse. This is the point where your clan becomes from "Small" to "Personal". Yes, you're alone now.
Most of the let's name them "Homemade" clans (Due to their rare stability and safety-in-use) have a good side as well. You can make one, recruit people and walk battlefields with them, gaining experience and sharing your knowledge with your clanmates.
Also, you will find another side of Soldat that is invisible when you are solo - Commands/Teamwork

Yeah you've just made your own clan and you are proud of yourself. I wish you luck. I am just one Mitak, one of many that exist and one of the few that will express their opinion so rebelliously.

I have an idea in my mind, floating for a long time and I'm going to share it with you.

It's about ignoring the small "Homemade" clans and stick our eyes to the Big clans. I think that there should be 10-20 even 30 GIGANTIC clans in Soldat, instead of 10 000 personal homemade ones. And they will require responsible, honorable leaders, proven ones. Yerarchy should be added too. For good and long service in the clan you should get a promotion - become a Moderator/Co-leader or something.

I don't know what you think now, having read this.
But I surely as hell would like to know.
Mitak

So why the hell you're posting ???

There's some good thoughts in that "txt". I agree a bit with you, Mitak. I think that some "kids" makes clans or other things 'cause they're bored. (my younger sister makes new blog every month)...

Gigantic clans? A good clan has 12 members AT MOST, otherwise it struggles with ineffective lineups or inactive players. Smaller clans with 5-7 players are much tighter, and work just as good or even better than bigger ones. Huge clans with 20+ members are utter crap, and I doubt anyone can disprove me on this one.

And indeed, the one-man-made clans which never even get a match are pathetic and aren't even worth mentioning 8)

Jee, that's why I'm solo now.
I have a new style - "Stalingrad" - Many comrades die, others come to take their place. I just keep movin' on from server to server, fighting on different battlefields... Eeeh Soldat... Soldat...

What about the 101st and their members? They're like a gypsy neighbourhood [retard]
And the "United Soldiers of Soldat Orlystic"?

I know clans with 20+ @_@

I even know the biggest clan in Soldat: [Szukam Klanu]

^ Think.

Mitak: I've never heard of those clans, and I doubt they ever played a clanwar or they would pose a chance versus any decent clan. Thus the definition 'utter crap'.

And Outcast.. 2Wai has it's up-arching periods, but as I've noticed, they fall back after a while due to the million-inactives anchor. Atleast that happened when I was there.

I made a "homemade" clan myself, a long time ago.
I knew it was not going to last very long, but I got close to the few members in my clan, and I still play the occational game and chat with them.

Now I am in a homemade clan that has lasted for a few months already, and me being a co-leader of it, I dont want it to fall apart. We have skilled and active members too.

Nice... I gave it a go myself, created a Balkan clan - "Balkan Forces". I think we had 9 players but we were too inactive and never got to assemble more than 2 members in one server. So... We collapsed. We lasted for 2 months though. Good first try I guess.
