How do you feel about religion?

I personally love my religion but I think religions can cause lots of wars. Religion can help people and hurt people. I'm not talking about any religion in particular. I'm just asking how do you feel about them? Do you think that all religions are dumb except yours? I think all religions are fine and I like them all.

Anyway, religion generates war probably the most, look at Crusades, Iraq's current civil war thing, etc. I also think it is bad when countries are run by a religion or a religios doctrine like Saudi Arabia, at least I think they do. On a personal level, I think it helps you get through things and can be very helpful. Of course I think mines the best, otherwise I wouldn't believe it. If you could have any car at all, I think you would get the best one.

Most religions don't encourage war, they promote pacifism, morals, and goodwill towards mankind.

Islam doesn't exactly fit into that category, and the Crusades were during feudalistic eras when the Catholic church was corrupt in the first place.

I myself am Protestant, and adhere to His word. I don't just tolerate other religious beliefs or non-beliefs, I'd like to know more about them. There's no good in keeping yourself closed-minded to other cultures.

Religions aren't suppose to cause any conflict. Just its an easy platform for some to cause hate against a certain group of people and whatnot. I doubt many of the "Religious Wars" in history are entirely based on one religions doctrine, since most religions in the world preach peace. Put it in short words; Corruption of humanity seeping through. Most religions teach that every other religion is wrong, mine included. However some do promote love all others(which includes people in other religions), which I can respect.  Blazing Tiger hit some notes that ring true in his post... so just add my little paragraph to his and you got a juicy answer. Oh this reply goes towards Killroy's post as well.

Ok, Seven Days War anyone? (I think that's what its called, Isreal v Middle east) Read the Bible, there are loads of wars for religion in there. (Not saying they weren't necessary for the Jews)  The Holocaust. I could name more given some time. And if you read the Qua'ran (however its spelled) you don't see a lot of "Blow yourself up for Jihad" or "Kill the infedels" in it.

I'm not saying it has to be modern, but if you look at all the causes of all wars, its all religion, land, and politics pretty much. And the Nazis mostly targeted the Jews, which is a religion/ethnicity, making it a Religious killing.

Is Judiaism a religion? Last I checked it was. And since they targeted said religion. And I believe I said it generates wars, meaning it plays a key roll in causing it. Religion plays a part in loads of wars.

If your saying you don't think so, your crazy and know nothing about any religion. Have you ever even heard of Buddhism and Hinduism? There is a difference between not liking religion and blatanly ignoring how the majority of people act and their doctrine.
