I consider myself Agnostic, which pretty much means I don't believe/care in anything (not to be mistaken as athiest), however, is Agnosticism a religion?

Agnosticism is a 'philosophical position' or something. Christianity would be a religion, a common belief.

Agnosticism is more of a lack of religion. Although unlike Athiesm, Agnostics are not out to dispute if God exists. They're just not completely convinced by it.

Judiasm is a religion. It formed during the times of Jesus of Nazareth, when people flocked to him in belief that he was the son of God. The Jewish peoples are the Christians who denied Jesus as "the Messiah" and go by the Torah, or the Old Testament.

/L, I'm sure if you read a few passages in the Qur'an, New Testament, Torah, or the many works around Confucianism, Buddhism, and Hinduism you'll see that they all lean towards that sentiment.

And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,
Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

I went to some sort of Christian Camp last weekend. The first time, really, I would experience religion so deeply.

I found myself contesting the Bible (in my head) as excerpts and meanings were read to us. I would not make myself a slave to God. I would not let Him use Hell to justify His own cruelty.

They talked about how we must repent, and be reborn. You are born once physically, and must be reborn spiritually. I just sat there, thinking how unbelievably ridiculous all this was. After the meeting was over, everyone got together and played some basketball. Yeah it was fun. After that, we started a Texas Hold'em tournament - dealing the cards until 3 in the morning.

The next day we ate breakfast and sang songs together, went mini golfing and fishing. I made friends quickly, and for once I relaxed and had fun. One day and I already felt like I knew these people for years. I was enjoying myself so much at Camp Ross. But I still wasn't convinced in God.

It wasn't until the last day I made a realization.

Religion is not about Heaven and Hell
Religion is not about serving and punishment

Religion is not there to promise you a paradise, and punish those around you. To me, following a God for salvation is wrong. To me, religion is about simply realizing the good nature of life. It's not about rejoicing at the Lord, it's rejoicing because of the Lord.

Who is God really? He is nothing - and that is what will bring us together. Nothing.

We are together, we have become friends, because of nothing. People these days.

"You're Asian, you're not my friend"
"Skateboarder poser, not my friend"

Whatever. Society has a tendency to forget. I think God is like Santa Clause or the Tooth Fairy. Just an imaginary thing to remind us what really matters, what it takes to be friendly with everyone. God is not like a Spaghetti Monster.

I have chosen to change my lifestyle to a Christian lifestyle.

I gave up on religion when I was like, 10. None of you religious types take this the wrong way, but I just figured that religion was largely a way to give an explanation for that which could not be easily explained. I just think in such an analytical way, I'm not willing to belive something so abstract without solid proof. There is still a part of me that kind of belives, mostly when I think about death. The fact of no longer existing, mainly on a mental level, scares me into believing there is some kind of place for the mind after death, but, maybe that's just an immature fear.

But, now I'm rambling.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

Well it does have "ism" at the end so I sort of consider it a religon. Also if you have to follow any rules then it probably is a religion.

Personally, I tend to think of it like: some creatures could not have evolved by accident, some plants are too useful to have gotten that way by natural selection alone, and even the chromosome system might've been designed by something in charge.

Though, I've also spent time thinking about the best way to match up 1s and 0s with subatomic particles (protons and neutrons? electrons and protons?), so maybe it's just overthinking.

I'm a Catholic Christian,

Most religions don't encourage war, they promote pacifism, morals, and goodwill towards mankind.

Islam doesn't exactly fit into that category, and the Crusades were during feudalistic eras when the Catholic church was corrupt in the first place.
What?! Islam doesn't fit that category? Have you even read about Islam. I hate when people make false assumptions or get their facts wrong. Islam is also a peaceful religion. The so called "terrorist" are only using it as some sort of fucked up thing(they translate the word Jihad to something else).

I'm like that too. I like hearing other peoples religion and I never think they picked the wrong one.

Actually christianity is a religion where you should believe they picked the wrong one. Believing someone has their beliefs wrong but still respecting them and treating them like a brother/sister is not hard. People just don't take the time to do it, they either go one way or the other.

I know that. It's just that I never judge anyone on what they choose and I don't like hanging up on right or wrong. It's just the way I am.

I am god but I dont believe in catholics.
Religion is fake to me, because its all a matter of what country and what religion you are born into.
also it has its orgin in a time where it was common making up gods and fables to try and explain what could not be explained at that time. (storms, floods, diseases)
