desktop problem.

so, i find this really annoying and i don't know how to get rid of it..

here is a screenshot so you guys know what i mean becauze i can't really explain it too well.

the white stuff in the back of the text.

Dont you want the white bit on the text?
Well if you dont. Mini Tut:
1.Right Click on ur desktop
2.Click on properties
3.Click on desktop
4.Click on colour
5.Pick your colour to whatever you want that white part 2 be.

If this is not what you meant then :-\???

Yeah, my icons do that too. In fact, the icons on my desktop stopped have the transparent background immediately after the first day or so of having my new computer. I have no idea how to fix it, aside from just plain out hiding your icons like I do.

i have as less icons on my desktopp as i can now.
i don't like having a huge startmenu


and ACE, i know that, but then it's the same everywhere, and styill won't fit with the wallpaper. i want it to be transparent again.

I think perhaps using a custom theme that isn't signed by microsoft might cause the transparency to go away, but I'm not sure..

Press Windows+break or Right click on my computer and click properties

Click advanced Tab

Click settings under performance

un/check "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"

That should do it.... I think

thats it. Also as slayer said, tune up can help you optimize your computer performance and looks by changing those settings.

i did it, and it didn't work
it did resetted my visual style to the old default windows one...(you know, from win99etc..)
