Hej, I have a silleh kweschian:

How do I make the white on ma avatar transparent?

I have Photoshi0t and Paint but no ideaz how to make it...

paint has no transparency.

eraser tool in photoshop will do it.

I downloaded Photoshi0t and I read some tutorials, edited ma image but the background just ends up being blax.
Help fast pl0x before I start experiencing emoism sympthoms.

unlock the layer by double clicking and renaming it. Then take the magic eraser tool and click on the black.
voila. Save as png.

it had transperecy...and now it is a black background...

I did that and it still stays blax! URGH I HATE THAT PHOTO**** SO MUCH!
There are supposed to be 2 layaz or just one?

just 1. If there are 2 layers, and one of them is black then delete the black layer.

It would be best if you learned to do it yourself, but I'll do it for you.

Ok so this is what I tried to do:

Opened the png file, took the wand, made the inverse, copied the scorpio and made a new layer which was transparent. Then I pasted the scorpio to the transparent place and saved the file as png and gif...
After I upload it here, it's just black...

dont copy or anything. why would you do that?

Okay... When you open up the pic with the black background, all you do is this

1. Double click on the layer and rename it to adgh or whatever
2. choose the Magig eraser tool and click on the black stuff
3. Save as whatever.png

If the filesize is too big, chose Save for web and devices, and you can tweak some stuff to make the filesize lower.

Thank you very much for the help!
Though when I open the pic with Photoshop is shows the scorpio and the transperent layer behind, there is no black background @_@
But when I upload it here, it turns blax! Or is something wrong with ma Mozilla Firefox?

nope its transparent here also.

Try save for web and devices, there it shows what it will look like on a webpage. If its black, change some stuff in there untill you see it as transparent.

If it still doesen't work, just use the one I made or something.

i use Mozilla Firefox and when you started to topic it was transparent, and then you messed around with it and now the background is black.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The picture has to be 90 by 90 otherwise the forum resizes it and the transparency is lost.
