People who can't swim.

Do you think it should be mandatory for children to be taught to swim in school?

Also....if you can't swim, why do you panic when you're in the water?

Why the hell should it be mandatory?  That makes no sense at all.

People panic in water when they cant swim because they dont wish to lose their lives.  No one wants to drown to death.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
Ill see you on the dark side of the moon

Isn't it funny though? Panicking is what causes them to drown.

Calm the hell down and fucking paddle.

Nope, it shouldn't be. Though it's nice to know how to swim. Besides, almost everyone has been to a pool, it's really not that hard to learn to swing yo legs and hands or scream for a life-guard...
Not to mention I can't swim fast but well thanks to ma gigantic 28cm feet @_@

Welcome to the middle of the ocean, not too many lifeguards out here, but people can still swim.

Well... If it's not a life-guard who would save you, then it would be the local shark.
If you get panicked and in the middle of an ocean, start thinking about Soldat and you'll get ashore within minutes XD

life guards don't do crap. They won't save you if you get pulled out too far.

Hot damn! Anyone want me to draw a chart to help out in getting out of the rip tide? My dad drew use a chart every year and I know the entire speach... Although I can't do it without laughing...

Anyway I love swimming, though I stopped swimming in my pond due to the nasty weeds that like to screw up feet on the banks. I only get to swim about once a year though.

What happens when your friend is knocked out, and his head is submerged under water....and guess what? You can't swim, or swim properly.

†, Yes please.

you swim horizontally to the shore then in.

I could draw a chart of a forming riptide but I don't know what you want.

To teh Crusifix: lul I didn't swim at all this year
To Dascoo: I suppose this happened to you or someone you know.
The spammer side: You try to remember about good moments in Soldat, and the noobs you pwned, and the good you did for the community.
And then you drown... And get to play Soldat in heaven for FREE and with a perfect connection XD

When I was younger, I practically grew up in the pool.

Before last year, I didn't swim for almost two years and I swam better then more people in my class.

Learning to swim should be prioritized over learning to read!!!

I think it could be beneficial.  Not saying it should be implemented.

Not only are you teaching kids an important skill (I don't care what anyone says, it's very important and shouldn't be overlooked- never know when you might end up in some deep water), but it's great physical exercise.  Cardio and a lot more.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is
still a beautiful world.  Strive to be happy.

I've had 5 years of competitive swimming, coached by real swimmers. And I've seen how schools teach swimming...

... You probably won't learn much from the school. And it's very unlikely you'll learn how to save someone else who's drowning.
