First ever mod
« on: September 06, 2007, 04:43:20 am »
I've decided to come into the modding buisness, Since (imo) is alot easier then map making. I've had a go at making 2 weapons so far, Keep in mind these are my first ever mod and im still learning how to lighten weapons.

Well your shading is very plain. That needs work on =]

Your outline is very good however although a bit more detail can be added to it such as bumps on the top of the gun which help you aim.

For the double colt, i think that the shading is too extreme near the front end of the gun and that makes the weapon look abit morphed when both there are two of them.

All you need now is really abit of detail in your shading rather than a plain gradient and those guns will look sexy, along with your future weapons.

A good start =D
Keep it up!

Yes agree. Looks plain. I don't understand nothing about weapons modding but these weapons look plain.

well... if you sat my first mod attempt on AK-74 and this... i don't wanna talk about it!!! :D so this is good for a first attempt on a mod, keep up the work, practice on shading (make a backup on one of them and don't be afraid to do something wrong)

Nice shading but it needs details. Keep the good shading and add datails.

You've got promise in the shading and lighting department, but you have absolutely no detail on those things.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

For a first mod it's great work... you've got good lighting aspect on them.. although I have to say that the colt mk4 in the background is far too dark in comparrison to the foreground one.

Looking better. Your shapes are still a little bit too round IMHO. Don't be afraid to black in some corners and make it look sharp.
I think you should work on details next. You've got a good idea of shading, but being able to see the various parts of the weapon really adds to the overall feeling.
