Abusing power?
« on: September 14, 2007, 04:57:08 pm »
Question: is Xurich a u13.net servs admin??

if he is, then answer this, is he allowed to hack?

Today, at around 5.50pm eastern, I logged into serv u13.net 20000. and I saw {EF} xurich and R9. lordsomething in the server. talking. Then we started playing, I noticed that they got into our base quicker than usual, First I though it must be that they nade boosted, but apparently not. I soon found out that they were hacking, when xurich grabbed the flag teleported out of my range and scored.

they were both teleing into the base and capping. and using other weird hacks(maybe they are commands) like turning steyr into minigun, and law into saw. and sometime I found myself defenceless, without a gun.

So since they started to piss me off, I thought that I should do the samething to them. I started to use the command !pause repetedly. hoping that they would leave or stop hacking. But they banned me from the server, apparently permanently.

can admins hack in their own server? what should be done?

HAckers
{EF} Xurich
R9. lord____

EDIT: right before I was banned, I told my friend to make a demo of this, hope that there will be a demo, and u will be able to view it soon

No, I'm not a U13 server admin.

It's server scripting, which is enabled on that private server. They were initially written to test the capabilities of server scripting, and we occasionally use them to mess around with one another. We were trying to take a screenshot for a certain project when you barged into the server and began pausing repeatedly, so we banned you. It's not very complicated, and I hardly think that it merits yet another useless forum thread.

stop defending yourself boys, you hacked and thats it. + I dont think there is any reason for hacking.
what you saying now its just plain bull****. You can't even name the project.

+ you did not say anything to any of us, if you had a valid reason back then you could have just told us. But no, you keep goin' kept doin stuff.

PS.: took you long to make up that stuff. Dont start lying if you dont know how.

There are server scripts that can make it seem like someone is hacking.  Toumaz's server uses this and its really damn fun.  They weren't hacking, just using a script is all.

Like the climb servers, which uses /save and /load. To a new climber, it seems like someone is teleporting to a specific spot.

Not to hijack the topic away from the subject of hacking (heaven forbid we make use of this thread), but climbing servers save your location now? It's been a long time I've played in one. When you die, you can just /load to the place where you last saved? Or is it only if you save and leave the server (without dying) that you can actually return to a specific spot (which is preferable to me, since it doesn't allow as much of a free ride)?

What are the most popular climbing servers these days?

Yes, this is now completely possible.  I think EnEsCe's Climbing Server is still alive, check it with him.

If it is needed.

If you are so unsure of this, we'll just ask FliesLikeABrick to see if he does have this server script enabled.

Yes, some modern climb servers now have /save and /load scripts and they do excactly as you have described.

miketh has a climb server where you can save and load infinitely, but that's a server for newbies, so I'd suggest the TMS climb server [u13.net:30107]. 8 loads, and a nice line of maps for both beginners and pros.

EDIT: excruciator: welcome to the world where battleeye doesn't kick people for using scripts...

I know that and I played climb before, still why would there be a climbing script in a normal server, coincidence??

It's funny that you should mention that, because this thread evoked memory of a recent thread at the Fractured Forums where I was accused of hacking, but then that accusation was even more ludicrous than this one. Read it for a quick laugh.

Thanks for the info, Blue-ninja. I'll check that server out.

It's down at the moment, it's online, of course, but nobody can join it. I'll let you know that it's working. Alternatively, check out http://tms.jrgp.org to check out whether there's people in the server or not [top-right corner].

He isn't hacking. Your obviously some dumb ass that likes to accuse people for whatever; And then when someone is telling you its a script, you ignore that fact and you start arguing again.

I dont think thats funny, I think hes got a point, although a screenshot is not the best medium to tell if someone is hacking.
