If I Did It
« on: September 15, 2007, 11:33:23 am »
I find it so ironic that after getting away with murder, and on the same day he is releasing his book about not getting nailed for murder, OJ Simpson might go to jail for armed robbery and burgulary. What's your views on the first trial for him, his book, and the new allegations.

All I can say is that I'm still pissed that there wasn't a decent television program to be found the day he ran from the police -- every ****ing station was showing his car chase.  All I wanted was my Sunday night cartoons.

If you ask me it was the jury, and Mike Vick gets nailed for the dog fighting ring, and the trial lasts like what, 5 days? It was also OJ's refusal to give up, so get gets some kudos, not many because he was almost certainly lying, but some.

I mean it took like 5 days for him to make a plea deal, his trial isn't even till like December or something I know but he already pretty much confessed.

He had to confess...his friends were going to rat him out anyway.  If he didnt confess and then later got convicted then the Roger Godell would have probably banned him from the league.  His back was to the wall...O.J.'s was not.

That's pretty much what I'm saying James, Vick (and most people) either have to or will because they know they would lose either way becuase of the obvious evidence, while OJ had the luxury of neither happening. I hope he gets nailed for this robbery thing.

It's Johnny Cochran.  That guy is good.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

Actually, there was obvious evidence that was presented in court: shoe prints, DNA samples, over 100 testimonies from various witnesses -- and, most damning of all, Simpson's own admission of guilt when he was arrested.  Simpson's lawyers just happened to be very, very good at their jobs and played the whole thing off to police fraud and corruption.  They said that police planted and contaminated evidence and muddled the investigation through sloppy procedures.  They even managed to dismiss Simpson's admission on the grounds that he didn't have a lawyer present at the time so his own testimony can't be considered valid.

The sad thing is that we know he's guilty -- there's plenty of evidence for it (especially when you consider the fact that he originally wanted to title his book "I Did It," but his publishers forced him to change the name).  We just can't try a man twice for the same crime in this country.

If he was guilty there'd be riots possibly because of the race thing being brought up.

The fact that that is true is so sad it's not even funny. Stupid celebs able to get away with anything... If it were a different jury I bet OJ would be rotting in a cell right now.

OJ should've been put away the first time around, indeed. But no, no jury can resist the Chewbacca defense. I hope his ass gets handed to him this time around.
