AMD still doing buisness with honor
« on: September 19, 2007, 12:06:53 am »
For those of you who live in a hole AMD's true quad processors will soon be hitting the shelf. No matter how underhanded intel gets with their 2 duals slapped together.

Watch this presentation. It gets better toward the end when they start telling you how rigged intels advertising is.

I can respect AMD and their mature approach to selling a quality product.

Well, Intel has demonstrated Yorkfield in the IDF, which was overclocked to 5GHz and above, by the owner of XtremeSystems. He ran several world records live in the IDF.

Bye bye AMD. :|

Though, AMD released Barcelona over a week ago, wich seems to be quite working chip. And as AMD says, 10% to 60% of increase in performance against Intel, or something, I would say it is quite false. 60% MAY be possible in special circumstances, in a test which tests raw FPU power. The 10% increase is the least they can do at this moment.

Intel bringing 45nm chips out, which seem to overclock VERY well, just like Conroes did, while AMD has hard time pushing their CPU's above 2.2-2.4GHz. Does not sound good.

Fight! Win! Prevail!

As long as I can find an AMD for 25 dollars on newegg, AMD will have a special place in my wallet.
