Parachute as secondary

I think it would  be a good idea if you could use the parachute at any time during the game(once per life or something or its a pick up from base)

Imagine how much game play strategies could change, though if you want to use parachute you'd have to sacrifice secondary weapons

i don't see how it would effect soldat much, only in realistic servers with no jets and big falls.
I can't think of any with those specifcations but i suppose it's still a reasonably good idea, compared to some other ideas.

This could be cool for an infiltration map, where alpha spawns in a paratrooper plane, and jump out of the cargo hold, with the parachute pickups at the back.

That would look sweet. :P

Yeah, but only for realistic mode and maps with high falls, as Pie said... i can't see it... Keep parachutes for more realistic games... nice idea but i can't see it in game.

Agreed! Who would wanna give up your secondary weapon for a parachute you would never even use? There are close to no maps with high gaps and no jet out there, so it'd really be little more but a cool feature.

Perhaps if you didn't have to sacrifice your sec. weap., but still I don't think MM would ever consider adding this. Sorry, mate.

It isn't such a good idea actually, because even in realistic there are jumping techniques which allow you to fall from ANY height and not get injured at all or other simple technique using which you might get little damage.

Seems pretty useless if you ask me. Losing my knife for a parachute that I usually just ditch anyway, I don't think so.

You parachute on spawn as neccessary, otherwise you take damage from large falls on realistic. Sure it would be interesting to have a deployable parachute like in Battlefield that is infinite use, but the novelty would wear off instantly. The parachutes in Soldat are just about the only video game parachutes that make sense.

how about you choose if you want to deploy it in beginning? and you automatically drop it when you hit ground (even if not deployed)

at least on real mode. make some nice maps for it then.

I don't see why more weapons and more stuff is bad.

There's already a parachute on maps where you spawn high up.

This is a useless idea... Since on non-realistic mode there's no fall damage anyway.... not to mention the fact that there are jets on your feet which help slow descent.

how about add a whole nother wep class mebbe a "secondary eqipment" so you could have the parachute or mebbe some binoculars for non barretta zoom or landmines. hell maybe even portable limited-ammo stat guns!

Or how about something like in BF2? There's parachute that youn can use instantly but with after waiting a bit. It could be turned on and off by some key.

why not just make tapping "jump" key in air to deploy parachute and press "jump" key again to un-deploy it, then it automaticly dissapear when you land(but is still reuseable).
