About 20% of the time that I start a server, logs/soldatserver.pid is not created. Details in the ticket. I would like other server owners hosting on Linux to try starting a bunch of servers a bunch of times and take note of whether or not this happens.
As you try it, please state whether it happens or not
and whether or not you are running on a multi-core or multi-processor server. In general, weird/sporadic problems like this seem to be SMP/thread-timing issues. I wouldn't be surprised if this is one too.
