Performance in school.
« on: October 03, 2007, 08:22:14 pm »
I'm curious. Did any of you ever get bad marks at first, then later on in older grades you started getting good marks? As in way above average?

I'm doing the opposite....

I was always muscled into getting good grades. any little punk getting a "D" just because he doesn't give a shit should be whacked in the head.

Now it kind of sucks because I'm being challenged in school.

Yep, sounds exactly like me Dascoo, going backwards. But only in math. I get A-'s in every class except math. I try hard, but I have trouble remembering operations for certain problems in Algebra.

In middle school I didn't care and didn't try. When I got to high school I just decided to care. Mostly it just came to me naturally, besides stuff like math. I got High B's and Low A's without really giving much effort: never doing homework and hardly studying for tests. I think I eased by well :D

I use to think I was the shit back around my sophomore year in high school, did shit in grades and something clicked next year. I realized how I was doing all these things wrong and now I just take things in stride and learn them before I move on. I've only gotten one C in high school and currently only A's and B's in college.

I'm doing poorly... I am indeed lazy and a procrastinator, but it's also because I moved to Canada from the US, my school in the US was absolutely terrible, and I id not get the prerequisite knowledge for Chemistry or Math, so I'm taking 11th grade courses for those classes this semester and taking the 12th grade courses for those classes next semester... and I'm struggling now. I just got a 30% on my last test. -_-

Yup, it's math for me! I used to be the fucking genius in math with a 98% :( Now I'm an idiot. It's weird how the kids who always got 80's in math keep on getting 80's while the kids who were getting above 95's have turned into retards.

Then again, I think it's just our math teacher. He goes way way to fast, and I can't pay attention to him...I think I'm going to need a tutor to catch up.

I can nail 95+ on everything but Language A/writing. I just got an 80 on my essay... which is way below my own expectations.

I've always breezed through most of my classes, everything clicks within a few moments of studying the lesson, I get the work done, and then sit and wait for the bell to ring--or tutor other people. I pick up math, literature, scientific, and historic concepts quickly--but since I'm not really paying attention I make careless mistakes here and there.

Right now my only challenge is the analysis and application of Rhetoric, and oh, here's an idea, let's use The Scarlet Letter for material. Bull****!

I always was laid back in school, except elementary i actually tried back then and got straight A's... middle school, i didnt give a fuck, making C's mostly... high school came, i tried a bit harder but was still very laid back (i discovered skipping here too lol) but i made an average of B/C's through high school.

I've maybe studied for 5 tests/quizzes in my whole school life and i've always done decent on them, I rarely did homework unless i had time to do it in class or the class before :D but i wouldnt change a thing, i still had fun in school and wasnt a failure. (my greatest success thus far)

Or Slaughterhouse 5, or Catcher in the Rye, or 1984, or Brave New World, or any of those "classics" which are supposed to be good but really, really suck.  Hey! Kurt! No one cares that you think you were abducted by aliens during WW2!

I always do well in school. But when i was a kid in elementary school I always had a chance of getting held back. But in middle school, i started getting A's and B's. So far from middle school to high school I've only gotten 2 C's. Right now i have 2 C's but their not my final grades I'm raising them up. In chemistry honors we had a 300 point quiz, quiz, quiz, quiz. And i bombed it. IT WAS A QUIZ AND IT WAS 300 POINTS. I was like wtf. So right now i have a C- in that class.

I used to be good, I had friends that were smart so I didn't want to look dumb. Then came collage and I couldn't bother caring at first but after 1,5 year I started to do good again because in the end the grades would matter.

we, as in my friends and I

I believe that's not what he asked ;)

Anyway, I was always good in school, but waaaay too lazy to care about it. I always manage to get medium grades, but when I put an effort into it, I usually get topremarks. Not in every class, ofcourse. In middleschool, the only class I actually studied for was chemistry, and I just barely passed that :D I pretty much nailed the others..

Now, in highschool it's getting more difficult. I still nail the classes I was alwyas good at, such as english, danish(similar to your english), religion, history, geography, but chemistry owns me, and so does math :D
Problem is, I still don't really care. i know it's idiotic, but I've just kinda accepted it :/
I fucking miss all you cunts!
