nice interface.  Mine is more like a reversed side of the Crysis, because Soldat doesn't allow the health, vest, or jet bars to go any other way other than left or down... :-

still, i recon you could keep your interface.  we'll see once the finishing touches are made.

as for the sounds, this is where the gameplay-based sounds are, not music or sound effects I think:
C:Program FilesElectronic ArtsCrytekCrysis SP DemoGameLocalizedenglish.pak
Open it with Winzip, and find these files:
suit_maximum_armor
suit_maximum_strength
suit_modification_engaged

Note all those file have both Male and Female versions, so you can use either, and u can tell by the directory path the files would take if they were extracted with folders.

i'll continue work on my Crysis interface.  have fun.

EDIT:
Okay, this roughly what my unregistered interface looks like.  Everything except the arrow point at your player is like the interface in Crysis.  As for the cursor, the cursor you've used is like in the BETA, but the default cursor is actually the rounded edge type.  I actually prefer the -.- version, so perhaps you should just provide many.

I'm still finishing off my registered inerface, so I'll let you know once I'm done.

pic of my unreg interface is attached

Okay, here's my Crysis Registered Interface.  Still making some finishing touches on the unregistered one.  How do you like it?

They're beautiful! Just send me the files later and I'll add them as extras.

Good idea for the crosshairs I'll make several :D

BTW I extracted the files but I do not know how to play the .fbs. Though I only tried VLC.

If I manage to get these sound working then I will actually be able to alter more than just the guns sounds ;D

I'm glad you like them.  Look, I'm going to put some finishing touches on the unregistered interface, and there is something you should know.  I've tested the registered interface with 1280x1024 as a resolution, and it doesn't really work well.  In fact, it totally screws up.  So, I'm not sure how Soldat re-arranges the positions, so if you don't mind, I'll just send the files, and you can deal with any resolution issues.  They work fine under the default 640x480 though.

Also, regarding the sounds, I'll retrieve them, for you.  I have the demo loaded up and all, so I'll get you all the sounds for the weapons.  You'll probably get this stuff tomorrow.  If not then, then the day after.

Cya round,

Okay, here are the interface files.  Just extract them to the Soldat interfaces folder, with folder names.  I'll leave you to deal with the Non-reginterface, it's under Classic.

I'm doing the sounds as we speak. ;)

I'm un registered so I have no idea how to fixe the interface issue. Just leave it as they are. As long as they work in 640x480 they're fine.

It would be easier If you could tell me how to open the sounds. The folder was over 400MB but just send the files if you can.

Sorry about the sounds.  I don't know how to open the actual weapon effects, but CryEngine 2 seems to be sampling them in a way so that the sounds tend to always be a little uniqie, so there doesn't appear to be any definite file for each sound.

Because you don't have SandBox 2, you'll have to wait before you can get the sounds.  However, since I've downloaded the demo, I'll try doing most of the sounds for you.  I can't get all of them, however, because I'm using the demo, not the beta, so I'll only have weapon sounds for weapons in the demo, which don't include the Gauss Rifle, MOAR, MOAR + MOAC, etc.  But I do have the SCAR, FY-71, SMG, SOCOM, Shotgun, Tac Launcher, Minigun, LAW, and Melee.

I'll upload the, as soon as I can.

BTW, you should put more detail into the weapons. Just a comment, but yeah. Amazing

I'm going to brag a little now :)
I went to a small electronic store to look at some headphones and guess what I saw on the shelf! Yupp there it was, my beloved Crysis. They obviously didn't know that it wasn't supposed to be released yet.

I'm going to install the sandbox editor later str1ker.

That's actually being worked on Shadow G-Unit.

k, here are most of the files.  youll have to sync them (aka, shorten the time before the sounds actually play).

btw, hows the interface look?  sexy yeah?

Also, time for my own bragging, I'm getting the Smasung SyncMaster 305T LCD Monitor.  What's so special?  It's 30" and 2560x1600 max native resolution. ho ho ho.  merry christmas indeed...

dam, the files wont upload.  if u PM me ur email i can send as an attachment.  or, if uve got the sound covered, then i dont have to do anything.  btw, I'm still working on another version of my registered interface, so that it appears on the correct side and all.

cya round,

You can send the files to blackdevil0742[at]gmail[dot]com. Just replace the at with "@" and dot with "." (though I guess you knew that :))

Wow man thanks!
Now i just need the other sounds. I have the fullversion of Crysis but i'm not sure how to get them. The sound.pak is 600+MB so sending might be tricky.
How did you get them? Did you record them in the sandbox editor? I did it on some sound but the shotgun was recorded crisp and bad and I don't know what settings to use in audacity.

heres what you do.  you open up the Sound Recorder in windows.
You open up SandBox 2.

Now, this always takes at least two tries to get a sound nice and clear, but in SandBox, click the 'Sounds' menu, and click the bottom selection, which should open up a window with a tree folder diagram, with all the sounds used for the game.

Now, here comes the fun part.  The sounds are pretty low volume, so turn up your speakers a bit.  Under weapons, find the one you want, say, Shotgun.

Now, you'll have multiple files, but the ones you'll be eyeing out for the firing effect, are fire_outside_fp (something like that) and cockback cockforward.

So first, you click on those sounds to play them (provided the checkbox on the side of everything is checked).  So, you check to make sure that those are the files you want.

Now, go back to the recorder, and start recording.  Take as much time as you want on this ;).

Go back to the editor, and get ready to click those sounds in order.  fire cockback cockforward.  if the first shotgun firing sound was okay, and not chopped off, then you've done it.  Simply go back to the recorder and do these:
Use the Delete Before Current Position, to make the shotgun fire sooner in the file.
Use the Delete After Current Position, to make the file as short as possible.

Finally, remember when I said turn the volume up?  Well, now, in the Sound Recorder, use Increase Volume (25%) 8 times.  Yes, do it eight (8) times.

Now save the file as whatever name.

A couple of side notes, you'll notice that once you've clicked the first sound, you have to get the others right, and in time, because there is no mid-way sound editing, and its likely the sounds will merge when playing so close together.

Okay, here are some commonly used sound names:
fire_fp_single_outdoor                     -               The sound you want for the firing
<weapon>_reload_grabclip             -               Used when the weapon requires that the clip be pulled out
<weapon>_reload_clipout               -               When the clip actually comes out (also known as magazine)
<weapon>_reload_clipin                  -               The sound used when a clip is inserted into the gun
<weapon>_reload_cockback            -               The sound when the cocking mechanism is pulled back
<weapon>_reload_cockfwd             -               The sound when the cocking mechanism is released forward

You should be able to tell what is what by just reading the sound names, and you can record the sounds creatively.  Of course, there are a few odd names, which you may not know, and are not common to convetional weapons, but you'll get the idea.  For example, to reload the LAW, I just played everysingle file that had nothing to do with the actually launching of the rocket.

Well, I hope you do well, and have fun, because fun is all I had doing the sound.  If you can't do, either ask someone else, or just wait until I get Crysis ;).

Cya round, and I hope your Crysis mod goes well. :)

I must thank you for all this. Though I realized that it's better to re record all of the sounds as yours have a different sound when recorded(more quiet as you said).

Thanks for the instructions BTW.

No problem, I'm always happy to help.

Of course, I'm not so happy when I don't get a thank you, but that rarely happens. ;)

If you need any more help, don't hesitate to send me an email.

Oh, one more thing, so you can get the weapons to look as much as the real ones as possible:

In SandBox 2, open up any level, and make sure the settings are on at least medium.  Now, set the sky colour to that green that isn't shown in soldat (the alpha masked colour).

Place a weapon, e.g. Shotgun, on the ground and rotate it so that it lies flat.  Now, under view, uncheck terrain, and make sure the gun isn't in a shadow of any sort.  Also, make the time, midday.

Look down directly onto the gun, and take a screen shot (with no antialiasing), then rotate scale, whatever, and use that as the weapons display.

That way, the weapons will be as real as possible. ;)

You can do the same for the nanosuit.  Place a nanosuit character, face him side on, using the view tab, remove everything from the game, except objects.  Face the suit side on, take a screen shot (again, no AA, and no shadowing) and presto, you have a side-on view of the nanosuit to use in the game. ;)

BTW, I'll be making a better interface, that looks more like Crysis soon, so I'll let you know once I have it. :)

Keep modding,

Str!ker

I've done all of the weapon sounds now.

I ran into a problem yet again. Sounds like explosions will not sound good when recorded in audacity. Any idea how to record them?

As for the re make of the guns. That'd be kinda cheating you know :)
I'll stick to the ones I have and maybe some day in the future I'll do that ::)

I'm looking forward to your interface ;)

my next interface i going quite well.  it'll be a bit strange, because i've made everything angled, like its part of a visor, like the real game, but unfortunaly, I cant rotate text, and I can't rotate the grenade amount, so, what i'll do, is I'll make two.  One angled, like the real game, the other not angled, but still close to the real game, i'll post pics of both, then you'll choose.

EDIT:

Okay, the first attachment is the non-angle version, which I think will look the best, mainly because there is no point putting an angle on an interface, unless all of the moving bars and stuff can be tilted, which grenades, text, and other things cannot, which sucks.

Anyway, I think this interface is quite nice, and it eliminates the issue of the full screening predator, or flame god, or berserker mode issues i've encountered...

Alternately, you can change the grenade text into grenades, but then you must edit out the grenade icon on the side.  Lemme know what you want, I'll edit it, then send it to you.  I'm also making a revision on the unregistered Crysis interface, so that, again, i get rid of the predator, or, whatever bonus problems i encounter...

I like it str1ker! :)

I also have some news. There is a "beta 2" now(link on first page).

The biggest addition are the sounds. I haven't done some of them. You can read why on the first page under the beta 2 description. The next big thing is that I re seized the weapons for the menu. Note that I haven't changed the size of the image on them so they might be missaligned.
