UPDATE

Interface finished. That jetbar took forever... Some minor modifications to the other parts as well. I'll now commence the gostek-redo and I'll maybe try to get some sounds. Then i'll publish the first beta version.

Hello again

Many small things updated and gostek mostly done. I think the mod is at a point it could be beta tested, and for that I need some volunteers ;). If you're interested, just give me your e-mail address and i'll send it. For others, I took some new screenies and edited a small compilation.

For beta testing: The bravo team gostek's not done, but that can easily be copied from the regular. Weapon statistics are made only for realistic mode.

All constructive criticism is welcome.

Im very good with realistic mode, since I play a lot of TW and TTW. Ill be able to imagine the weapons and estimate the best amount of recoil.

That interface is very very well done. Sleek and pleasing to the eye. Good job =]

Although I do not too much like the orange-red orb infront of the health bar. Maybe put a red cross? or a heart? or take it away and move the interface to the left a bit. If the orb was smaller, it would look better.

Actually, make the box the orb is in smaller and make the orb itself half the size of the box. Then it would look perfect.

But thats just my 2 cents.

Hmm, after further thinking (which I rarely do) I decided to simply post the beta here. There is not really enough testing yet to call forth teh_beta_testahs. Anyone is free to download and comment.

~R~Radio, it would really help if you could make the normal game stats, since I always play realistic. I haven't played the non-realistic in about 4 years now...

I was also finally able to plan the mod further in my head. It would be based on survival and tactics rather than firepower, which could be made with either survival mode (a bit slow paced, maybe) or long respawn times and the maps would be rather large. The weapons would be bought or found and you could only choose the subweapon. If this is possible, I might unbalance the weapons a little (rockets should be a little more effective than a shotgun...) and make the strong ones rare or high-priced. The gameplay itself would be Teammatch propably, though with only two teams (or CTF without flags :P). The alpha team is the soldier team which has warriors scattered all around the center of the stage (the original fighting force of the apocalyptic war scenes). The Bravos are Special Ops or similar whose mission is to cleanse the city, and they start from both sides. That means the Alphas will camp in the middle trying to gather up and defend, when the Bravos attack from both sides. If needs balance, the Bravos could have more cash or better weapon spawns (attacking is harder than defending).

Well, that was my plan. If it narrows the gameplay too much or is impossible, it will change. Comments and ideas on that part are also welcome. This testing is only for the "skeleton" of the mod, which will grow larger when I add up a couple of new weapons. After a while, I will redraw all weapons, fix the interface (and shrink the orb, it bothers me too. It just took such a long time, so it's a shame :(), get some sounds and preferably make (or get someone to make) a map.

PS: I just bought Metroid Prime Corruption, so my attention to this mod might be slightly disturbed... might and slighty...

I like the concept, but by cleanse, what would be the cleansees offense? Being zombies, infecting people with a bad contagious epidemic?

And Ill do the .ini for you, but do you still want it to be total chaos, or somewhat balanced?

By cleansing I simply mean to eliminate everything that still lives. The .ini file could be balanced for now. Maybe later, if I get the weapon restriction thingies working somehow through someone, I'll give you a new weapons_realistic.ini and you could make it relatively balanced (relative to the cost or rarity). That is, if you still wish.

The mod has actually developped today a lot more than any other day. I just finished drawing, testing and tuning all the gosteks (I re-did the old ones) and they look quite nice. I also redrew a couple of weapons and added a new one. I will give up on my older idea and make their appearance more diverse. All kits are coming up quite nicely too. I'll post a large update later on...

Thank you. I was somehow able to forget describing it on the list... Well, that's fixed now.

Tectonic Launcher and Plasma Rifle are propably final, but I will add some detail and correct the too-smooth shading (especially on shredder. It should look deadly, not like a tin can.)

PS: I also need to set the coordinates and the size of the cash amount, and make a new interface box for it. What a pain...
