Hmm, very nice mod. I don't think I will ever dedicate myself to making a map for someone or waypointing ever again. Only unless I feel a great gleam of inspiration upon myself.

Love it. You seem to be a very dedicated modder, something I could never be. Congrats. I map, and only map when I feel inspired, so therefore I am not too predictable as to when I will make another map worth my time. I have/had a mod running on for about 2 days, but since I'm no graphics artist, the desire died away rather quickly. I feel bad for the person helping me. They produced 2 great weapons, then I lost desire to continue and so did they. I will pick that back up some day... I have the weapons ini. files edited to almost a tee of what I wanted. Now it's the graphics that stump and discourage me.

Well, that was greatly off topic. I am loving your weapons so far, and the fact that you are making a script to go along with this. I would play your mod just for your script, as it includes weapon prices and weapon spawns? Rather unheard of...at least as far as the weapon spawns go. I'm not sure about weapon prices being done before. Nicely done. I will play this mod whenever it comes around to completion. Even now, I complemplate whever or not to play the beta ;).

I will attempt a map for you, but this is no promise. I have been devising up a plan for a city map as of late and how I would do buildings etc. The only thing is that it would require a lot of new scenery, or at least textures that I myself would lack the ability to come up with. I of course would not want to hinder anyone else in the making of textures for me on a map I would, myself not complete. I guess I will attempt to do sketching and studying for this map, but as far as my actions go, this may only be a fantasy of my mind and my words.

Hmm, off I go now to school work, and enough of my lengthy post. I will do as my mind aspires according to this mod and mapping. If ever I recieve a feint hope of accomplishing a great mapping feat, I will strive to finish unto completion a map of some proportion of decentess. I have been reading too much of The Odyssey... At least you have  inspired me to utter (type) such words as these, and I only wish to say good luck with this. Don't be niggard in your making of this! Err, niggard's definition is: "A stingey person; a miser."

Eh, glad to be of assistance. I am actually sketching a map for this mod, but that is mostly for my own enjoyment. I might post it later on though.

I rarely get anything done completely, but this time I am rather determined. I just finished drawing new interface graphics for the Shredder and the Basilisk.

About the scripts, I am sorry to say that they're not mine. The shop script is Dorkeydear's (all credits to him) and I downloaded the weapon limitation script from these forums. I am not skilled enough in Pascal to make scripts of my own. I haven't got a weapon spawn script, but I intend to get one of my friends to make it, if possible.

It seems like this mod will be able to work both as a basic deathmatch/ctf game and a special TW game. Peachy.

Lovely. Well, never knew there was a weapons buying script... Oh well, at least they are incorperated into your mod. Makes it all the better I guess.

Simply to bump this topic, I have an idea in which I need help ;)

I am thinking the weapon in the m79 slot, which I haven't made yet. I came up with 2 possibilites (currently):

1. I will make it into a plasma mortar (project name) which is basically a plasma rifle with artillery capabilities instead of sniping (can't change the bullet anymore). It could be used strategically, but is rather unimaginative in my opinion. Of course it will be cheaper than the plasma rifle.

2. This is rather experimental. I would change the plasma rifle into the m79 slot (no other changes except the loss of the scope) and create (this is the experimental part) a rather tactical weapon called something like "targeting system and handgun" for example. It would consist of a secondary weapon class gun and a targeting system attached to it or separately hanging. It would allow you to see far, and since it takes a primary weapon place, could also be used as a weapon of some sort.

I am still experimenting on how the binoculartargettingsystemthingie would be drawn in the weapons-gfx, but if I get it working, which idea would you prefer?

PS: Has anyone else made a weapon like this? o.O

I don't see how you can implement the Barrett scope into weapon slot 7, since the scope is an intrinsic of slot 8.

I meant moving the current "barret" into the m79 slot, and making the targeting system to slot 8.

*UPDATE*

Re-drew some weapons. Tectonic Launcher and ENI-projector got tweaked a little; Predator, Shredder, Basilisk and Griffon got a new shading and some modifying. I am currently working on completely re-drawing the handgun, it looks terrible.

I like the idea of having the sniper with explosive properties. Makes it all the more fun since the Barret is already a one-hit-kill. Splosions add some variety I guess ;D.

Well, I guess if your moving it into the m79 slot...hmm, well I still like the idea of having a weapon with the zooming capabilities while shooting explosive projectiles. Gives more of a definite oomph when you shoot someone ;).

Well, I'll propably stick to that since the targeting system won't work correctly. And it would be a huge waste of money, since it's too limited. Either way, I've already drawn the prototype plasma mortar. The lack of interest just doesn't motivate me to continue :-[

Well, I guess we are awaiting another release. Or, I guess, more of official release since this is still the "Sneak Peek" ;). I'm still diggin this.

Edit:

Yeah, I guess so. Since the first post doesn't really have a download, and the other downloads are mainly for beta testing, we are awaiting more of official release. Do you have the scripts upload in with the beta testing stuffs? In that case, I would go and download this to test it with the prices etc. This would probably my main used mod, but right now, I've got some random thing I've made called "Nerded+" or something stupid...Basically all of the weapons are either something involved with a computer or random office supplies.

o.0 I was pretty sure this mod was done for from it's limit-ness (whatever!). Well, after I get the kits and the last weapon ready I'll post a new version. Need to modify the prices too... I was already starting a new project ><

Yeah, still. The first post has no download ;).

Thought I'd try to push you a little bit more. You did say this:

>< I knew I shouldn't have said that.

Well, to the point. I finished the plasma mortar (image below), but I got this crazy idea. What would you think about a "disc thrower"? Basically a gun that shoots spark discs.

Pros:
- It would be damned cool
- More variety

Cons:
- Very powerful at short to mid range (again...)
- The discs can be picked up and re-thrown, causing a disc war.

Maybe I should make the spark disc free if i'd want to add this... Either way, you'll propably get a new version today.

EDIT: Aw shizen... I am currently on an other computer to which I e-mailed the mod files, but they were outdated! That means I cannot give you a decent enough compilation to call it another beta :/ I'll do it on monday, when I get back. Meanwhile, here's the new handgun. Comments please!

Oh yeah, I got another crazy idea. I combined the idea of the targeting system and the grenade launcher and successfully created a long range tracking drone: A barret which shoots a grenade. Awesome for scouting. I won't be replacing the plasma rifle yet though....

;D You probably shouldn't have said that. Well, Ima gonna go download your mod and stuff. You've deserved my download, not that me downloading it is any reward or anything... I'm not even a modder or good critiquer of mods.

Umm, I guess it does seem as though the interest is dying :(. I hate to say that but the new spark of it is, well, dim. I'm still a fan of this mod though.

Good luck.

Edit:

If you want to have a small revive, you could work on this a bit more in secret, then repost this as a new topic either in the Partial mods, or the Full mods section if it qualifies. It would probably regain some attention.

To me, the guns look pretty good. But I can't really give much good constructive feedback. I like the discthrowing idea. I've actually often thought about a gun like this ever since I saw that you replaced the knife with a disk.

Damn, you ruined it! :D

Well, I was thinking if I get your map (no pressure) I would post this on the full mods section. I will re-do propably everything I've done, except the interface. I love it myself.

You didn't have to say anything ;D.

I'm truly sorry. I don't seem to be the right person to make your map at this current time. I guess you caught me, or I caught you in rather a bad time. Any other time would be an exception...but:

Quote
I love this map. This always seems to be curse to my mapmaking and general Soldat playing. Whenever I start making this map, I get burnt out. I've been making maps pretty strongly for the last 2-3 months, and have now released something like 15 altogether. Maybe not much of a feat, but it is for me.

Just so I don't completely burn myself out on Soldat, (plus I just recently obtained a light sickness), I will refrain from mapping for the time being. I will reapear to the scene sometime later and will probably occasionally post, but I've been maintaining an average post of 1.6 posts per day.

I need a break from my Soldat forums and mapping craze. I'll probably come back with a new map, or an update to this one, but I don't promise anything. Just because I'm gone doesn't mean I'll be making a new "uberzors" map; not that anyone would think that, but you never know.

Cya around folks. I'll still be checking this thread to see if any new quick and fixable problems arise, and I'll still post too. Just, not and average of 1.6 posts per day, which is a lot considering that I'm not on this forums every day.

Well, I am too having a pause from this mod. I am working on anotherone, and when it's finished, I'll propably redo this one. Imo I've done a lot of progress in shading especially, so I might be able to make a tasty outfit for the ol' apocalyptic mod too :)
