That's a little map i'm currently working on, jus wanted to know what you guys though about it, I tried to give a it a very new style and something not usual for soldat. So It's made out of sceneries i made myself on 3dsmax 9

I'm not complaining, but I'm saying he will get the same problem when I had the idea of makind top down 3d maps for a 2d game in game maker. When you move the perspective should change in a 3d engine, but here it won't because it's just a static image...

Well yeah that's actually the hardest problem to solve currently, Since there's no solution possible, I'm walking around it, by tweaking slightly the perspective making it fake, for instance I have to place my Game camera, make it the angle i want, build the complex, push the camera back to fit the size of the complex, tweak the camera a little to fix foreshortenening issues that are too much apparent withouth losing depth and perspective, then I render at 3200*2400 reduce the image, turn to png and insert in the editor.

It's all very simple honestly, the only big problem is that camera has it limits, even tho i can tweak the fov, or range or wathever, It always come to the same problem.

So when ill be doing the interior of the complex, ill simply use a new camera at the same angle, and render it sparated with the same process, then attach it with the exterior with the editor. Then if nessesary ill fix stuff with polywork

Won't be perfect, and it will be noticable that the image is static and the perspective shift from parts to parts to keep playability, but I think it will still look good

Well it's technically for my own mod, but any futuristic mods will do. I will most likely ship a beta version of my mod with the finished map. I still need to make tons of sound, and 3 guns. But all in all its coming along nicely. I can throw in a screen or 2 if you like

Well that's what i told you all about, the fact that the different sections of the map are kind of different angle. I try to keep it as consistent as i can, but it will most likely end up like due to the editor limitation.

Looks like a Space Level from Quake III Arena. But I have to say, that is the best damn 3D work I've ever seen on a map. Please release it, I want to examine it to see how you created it.

well you could try to give it an izometric feel so it would be in the same angle wherever you are. Maybe not too realistic but well, itt would look good IMO

Really awesome. First time I've seen someone being able to actually make a 3d map for this game!
That might create it's own class for new maps (3d_ctf_... for example). Great job!

PS: I don't think this style would fit trenchwar...
