A couple weeks ago the Soldat game development team has grown. They already were working on the server code for a long time, so it was about time they got the client code. EnEsCe and Chrisgbk are working on the new Soldat version. My contribution to this version will be limited because I am focused on my new game link-dead (more info on my blog). There is already an enormous amount of work done, you can expect a lot of new stuff added, it will be worth waiting for. EnEsCe will have more details on specific additions and fixes in a while.

It should also be mentioned that we're doing a public beta for this version, so everyone will be able to help test it. The beta testers will test it privately for a week or so to work out any larger issues that will keep it from being tested effectively. Once the beta is public, beta testers will work to manage the bugs in the bug tracker and help to organize the bug reporting forums.

Ah, some good news already? How come it's so early. ;)
I'm putting great hopes in this new version, as I've totally stopped playing Soldat since 1.4.x.

So now soldats developement is not fully in MM's hands anymore. I hope those guys wont go doing anything nasty with the settings... : X

... But, i think there shouldn't be vehicles, there should be added team weapons

i've seen 3 additions (posted @ #soldat.devs) so far and they're all good. so i think its going to be a great version.
