It's only his best guess. Your dreams may still roam unshattered if you like :)
It's very detailed as a first guess, Alas, My dreams of having an early open beta release date are still crushed!
Lol, internets.

All we know is that the release is taking some time longer than planned. None of us really know when it will be out yet. We can, as all of you, only guess. Which sucks :P I'm as excited about it as all you guys!

Yeah, But it's kind of like this;

Developers>Beta testers>open Beta (Aka, Release to general public.)
So you'll still get it before me right :p

And is that how it will go or will there be a few more steps to it?
Like after the testers have played it throughly, Will it go back to the Dev team for a bug fix, Or straight onto a general release?

Offtopic:
I'm so excited i was typing so fast i kept misspelling every second word, Doh!

Lol, internets.

That is the general chain of command as far as I'm told, but I'm not sure how this thing comes down. It's my first version as betatester, so I have yet to see it for myself. But I suppose the way you put is pretty accurate, at least that's how I expect it to be. There will be a closed beta release before the public, of course.

Which i imagine would consist of, Mostly you guys(Beta testers) And possibly a few more people?
Or just you guys, I'm confused :s
I Figure a closed beta as a sign up, as in you sign up to test it, And it consists of a list with X amount of spots, And people keep putting down names until it's full.
What do you mean by closed beta?
Lol, internets.

Yeah, the betatesters and probably the moderators. There could be an additional few, I wouldn't know.
As for a closed beta.. it's your usual betaversion being released to a selected few(mentioned above) to test it out before, a week later or so depending on the amount of fatal flaws in it, it's released to the public for testing and tryout.

But no, it won't be some sort of signup thing. A new section opened on the forums not so long ago, remember? Dedicated to public betatesting of the upcoming version. Only when the version is released to the public will you be able to participte in the testing.

...Does that make sence?

Yeah, I wasn't clear on what you defined Closed beta.
but Another thing, Why is it taking so long (not that i'm complaining) I mean unless they are overhauling the entire coding of they game it shouldn't be too major, so with the undefined release date it brings two things to mind;
1.) They are indeed over-hauling the entire game, code and everything, the works.
2.) They are either waiting for something/someone to do something, Or they want it as perfect as they can get it, as perfect as humanly possible, Not that enesce is human or anything, Damn machine...
Lol, internets.

Well, you pretty much said it yourself.. There's a lot of new features being implemented in this new version, that's no secret, and NSC is only one man mostly in charge of it all. He has personal issues matters to attend to, as well as everyone else, and christmas over newyear is never an easy time when it comes to that. There are so many things that needs doing and whatnot. :)

But it seems to me that he's really giving it his all to make it out sometime soon, which is really more than any of us can ask for. I think maybe we all got supriced at the shere scale of it, and how much work had to be put into it.

But to be honest with you, I'm not exactly sure what's keeping him. I know he's working on a lot of fresh stuff for soldat, but even we betatesters are kept unknowing of some of it. He stated in the betaforum that "I think for once the beta testers can have a surprise aswell", so who knows what kind of beast his coming up with :P

Sigh, More surprises!

I'm just trying to understand why it's been prolonged, I know it's only one guy, and i respect that he just didn't blow it off and go to a bar.
The fact that he's doing it on his own just shows that he wants to see it blossom into the violent, Gore loving child he has cared for in MM's Absence.

If i wore a hat, i'd tip it, But i don't So too bad i guess.
I'm glad to hear he's still doing it, Even on his own.
I thought there was more then one person working on it.
Lol, internets.

Well I'm sure FLAB and Chris are both giving a hand, but I think NSC is pretty much in charge. How would I know, I'm but a humble mortal ;)

Well, we are getting closer to the closed beta stage. I am just waiting on my hair to grow abit longer :)

Eh well I have been leaving afew scattered notes about some of the things I've added, around various topics on the forum. Should be enough to keep people interested. I mean, my avatar, exploding heads, who doesn't love gore??!?!?!?!?

Boom! Headshot!

That'll be a nice little addition there... Although i wonder if exploding headshots is only the beginning of EnEsCe's so-called gore fest?

Finally, a reason for the snipers among us to go for the head. \m/
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

YEah, should be pretty neat As it is now it's kinda hard to see where you hit, and headshots aren't really appreciated. This will all change from now on! Muahaha!

It's allready possible to use other interfaces even if not registrered. All you have to do is enter the "custom interface" in your soldat folder, and transfer whichever one you like to "interface-gfx". Sort of like you would with any weaponmod.
