it doesn't shoot far as it is. and the spas is fine, except for that whole: "you are better off with a ruger." also applies to many situations where you use the spas, still not nearly as underpowered as the mp5.

Ok, When I was referring to a close range weapon I meant the mp5 as this is what the topic pertains to.  So the point was that an mp5 does not out damage a long range weapon (ruger) even if they are both are right next to each other.

Yes, the mp5 DEFINITELY needs a power and possibly speed buff. And when he said standing still and unloading, he wasn't saying that that's what he does/suggests you do/think that's how it should be used. He meant that even if every bullet hits, at any range, the ruger will kill first.

speed buff is out of question, man mp5 is a close range gun.. I dont wanna see another spas...supposedly shortranged but midranged gun.

still I would like to see a ruger nerf. + I dont like how sna balanced it... no bink... ruger still kills too fast.

And my point is ruger is a semi, which does infact out damage an auto all the time. One shots out damage semis all the time. Rock, paper, scissors. You can't base a weapons effectiveness through a pure damage test alone. That aside I do think the Mp5 could use to be slightly better, but not much.

You would think that making things balanced would mean that an mp5 spitting out bullets would very much out do a ruger that is also spitting out bullets, since the mp5 is a closerange weapon.

The MP5's constant spray of fire is the only thing that is stopping it from becoming an obsolete weapon. It's just getting outclassed by the Spas with its higher damage-per second.

If you are good nothing is a "short range" gun. The screen is only so big.

Anyways, I do agree that the shotgun is far more useful than the MP5 in shortrange, and in mid-range the MP5 already sucks pretty much...a slight boost of damage would greatly help it (not too much tho, or it might get a bit overpowered like in 1.2.1 )

Short range gun means its a better gun when is used at short range, it doenst mean that the bullets disappears after few meters. Dont take everything so literally. If you get what I meant, fine thats great, but don't argue about the wording.
