changing name
« on: November 08, 2007, 04:13:09 pm »
well I'm just asking, since it has happened before... could my name be changed to disturbed_one? I could just make a new account and never use this one aswell but then the warning would be gone and thats not really fair so pwease purty pwease [pigtail] FLAB or anyone? I've been dying to change my name because everyone knows me as disturbed_one and well thats about it.

So set your personal text to "disturbed_one" or something.  We don't change names.

...the bottom line is no. It's a pain in the ass for admins to go and change people's usernames when it's not necessary at all.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

C'mon, Ru, I mean Chakra, did it once. Didn't you have a system in place before where if we donated to the forum, you'd change our names?

Nah, I'm pretty sure that was for custom titles.

The bigger reason is that if we start doing it for some people, other people are going to ask.  We don't want everyone changing their names because then people would see someone with 1000 posts and be like "who the f*ck is that?"

This is why the changing names feature is disabled.  If we had that enabled, you could have done it yourself.

You can easily get your name changed, but you'll have to work something out with a-4-year-old to do it. ;)  ::)

That was my intention from the beginning... yeah...

Anyway, you should be complaining, some other guy got his name changed but you can't.

As far as I know, SpiltCofee's name was allready something similar, so if he ahd it changed, people would still know it was him..

So set your personal text to "disturbed_one" or something.  We don't change names.

ehh umm.....

lol

If you're looking for a warning, why don't you just ask the mods nicely and rid the rest of us from your silly posts?

I think he's just laughing at the point that FLAB said they don't change names but they actually did (once, but they still did... It's as if i asked them to change my nick to Light Sniper [which is my real nick], I'm sure other ppl would complain too...)

Yeah, I got darn lucky. Must've been the only one in a million people that asked to actually get my name changed.

Thanks for the help on that one, a-4-year-old.

SpiltCoffee and elbow_man aren't very relevant.

Anyway, I bet this would be the same case with this guy.

You guys don't think it is a huge waste of time debating this?  Even on the old forums, before me, before Chakra (back in the days of DNA.Styx) the policy was still "we don't change names"

I have only made a few exceptions on here, and those have been for people whose names had clan tags and those who used weird non-standard characters in their names (like Espadon and someone else) and then regretted it.  I don't remember what it was that caused me to change SplitCoffee's name, if it was even me who did it.

I will not change someone's name without a good reason, and even then I don't like doing it.

You apparently pitied Spilt because a-4-year-old was being an arse towards him just for asking. You slipped, mate.

I'll do it for you just because 4-year-old is being an asshole to you.
