Archiving old versions on soldat.pl
« on: November 09, 2007, 02:26:14 pm »
I'm working on gathering all old versions, patches, servers and things into http://static.soldat.pl/downloads

Do you see anything missing?  I'm looking for any missing officially-released files to put in there.

If you find one missing and want to help:
- Reply to this thread and attach it to your post
- It has to be the original release of the file: no alterations, not repackaged, nothing different at all
- Preferably show me where I can get the missing file(s) from a few different sources so that I can confirm that they are all identical
- The files must be the original name that they were released as.
- Even if you can't find the files but can find the correct names of them, that will help me search.  I also have copies of some of the files that I think are the released versions, but named incorrectly (http://u13.net/soldat/Soldats/)

The maximum upload size limit on here is 25MB, so if you find something feel free to attach it.  I'm making an effort to archive everything that people commonly ask for.

If you have something that you think should be there but isn't, upload it as well.  It can't hurt.

Thanks guys ;)

Thank God, I feel an archive of Soldat versions is long-overdue. Thank you, FLAB -- I've been wanting to download some older versions but haven't been able to find them anywhere.
For signatures, you are allowed only one image in your signature which may not be wider and taller than 300 and 125 pixels, and may not be over 20kB in file size. No BMPs are allowed.

We don't want beta versions, only official releases; beta versions are betas for a reason, they contain bugs (more than official releases).

Woah...

I think I may go and pay some time to the older games and see what they were like

Yeah. I've already tried 1.0.5 and 1.1.5. 1.0.5 was good, but not as good as 1.1.5. The thing I liked most about 1.0.5 was the classic interface. I'm going to try to remake it.

is there any harm in posting old betas in the archive?
