Battle for San Francisco Preview

check it.

making a mappack, Battle for San Francisco (my home)

me & a friend are crackin down this weekend and pumpin out as much as we can.

it'll be designed for ctf r/s type game, probably unwaypointed

the pic posted is a preview of what i've done so far on the Haight Street block.

we have six maps comming, listed as follows, with it's location in ()'s

1. Downtown San Fran (Chinatown-Market-Ferry)
2. Subway Battles (Embarcadero-Castro-West Portal)
3. Park Wars (Ocean-Golden Gate Park-Haight)
4. Battle of the Bridge (Presidio-Golden Gate Bridge-Marin)
5. Bank Ascension (Transamerica Pyramid)
6. Museum Massacre (Museum Concourse)

throw it my way if you've got any ideas/suggestions.  also, if you've got any good urban scenery in your folder pls pls pls send it my way.  (btw, i've already got RiR's scenery pack, so anything you've got OUTSIDE of that)

Make the buildings really tall in the Downtown part. Add cars to use a shields, add lamposts, and make the background like water or the beach or maybe a picture (Soldat-ish) of other buildings (existing). Oh yeah make the building occupy-able (to use as bunkers). Overall: I can see this/these map(s) to be one of the greatest ever built! I LOVE IT! PLEASE PM IF YOU GOT THE MAP PACK DONE! CAN'T WAIT! AMAZING :o!

Those buildings (and that car) is too small compared to the soldat.

Dude, I love the Amoeba on Haight, you need to make the buildings taller, and bigger.

But you get Uber-points for adding the Amoeba on Haight.

edit above - added screeny of what i've got workin on the Beach side, for anyone who's been to the Beach Shalet.

i'ma make the haight buildings a bit bigger, but not too much - i'm workin on limited space before this becomes an unreasonably long map

diggin the enthusiasm.  keep the suggestions commin

i'll try to remember to PM ppls as i finish these.  no promises tho.  at worst, they'll be posted up here & you'll see em.

worked on it today & have got three new screenies for ya

this first one's a show of little improvements on the haight side . it'll have a real ground soon


this here's the Stow Lake waterfall + Gazebo .  the gostek is to the left hiding behind a tree . there will be water below with the next update


this last one's from on top o the Stow Lake waterfall


pending my real life and my new schedule (which my boss'll give me tomorrow), i should be able to finish this map by the end of the week and i'll follow with more as i got the time

For the background, stand in the crosswalk from Haight to I the park, take a picture, scan it, make it scenery. and align the roads in you map

likin where you're goin with that

might cruise over there tomorrow and take a pic

would be cool if u didnt use scenery, but u used a texture for the waterfall and all that.

i might try and mess around with somethin for the water itself so's you could go behind it, but unless i can get it lookin really really good, i think i'ma steer clear of that
