Ctf_tw_Marsh

That's right: I made a map again, first one in a looong time. And not only that it's trenchwar, it's a continuation of my 'successfull' Mare series: so as usual, low polycount, marais texture, SK lighting effects, lots of grass, colliders, pwnageous layout! The flags are reversed, so it might be easier to cap: with this layout, new tactics also arise, and timing and teamplay become extremely important.

Looks good, reverse ctf in a tw map will be interesting and the theme is well done. I can't comment on gameplay yet. A worthy addition to tw servers.

Good job.

Edit: In Realistic mode do the stationary guns suffer from the same amount of recoil as other weapons? If they don't, it would be pretty hard to score in this map even though it is reverse ctf.

Edited edit: I had a play around in it with realistic on and noticed that there is no recoil on the stationary guns making it really hard for teams to get past them. The stationary on the alpha side of the map is okay because it doesn't have a clear range down the hill but the one on bravo side will kill everyone. The rest of the map is fantastic, I like the thought of the uphill battles to each spawn and you've found the right balance of having cover and open areas. Again, good job.

Great trenchwar map! I'm really curious how it is to play reversed ctf on tw. I love the "simple" polygon usage, it really gives the map that classic soldat feeling. This map should really be added to the server.

It looks nice, but the reverse thing kind of bothers me. It must a bit harder to score then.

I don't understand the whole idea behind this trenchwar thing.

This map looks nearly impossible to actually get anywhere because of there being 1 route only. Is there some sort of variation to the trenchwar gamemode?

there is lots of variation, if the map offers it:

-cleaning bunkers with explosives.
-rushing.
-sniping.
-hiding and getting behind enemy lines this way
-tactical camp until all mates are there for a powerfull rush.

sounds weird, but it is really different from usual soldat

In that case, i've got a crapload of maps for you.

At one point i tried making a bunch of Infiltration maps with only one route.

Maybe they have a purpose now? :P

i guess they wont fit the gamemode, there are pretty strict rules to make a TW map turn out playable
