what protocols did you forward the ports for, and what brand/model router are you using?

That server isn't behind router.
I opened that ports on firewall.

make sure he opened UDP on 23073.  The cause of this Requesting Game problem is 99% of the time a firewall issue, most often a matter of it not being opened/forwarded correctly.

Interesting, this guy is using FreeBSD and it works fine yet that other thread regarding the Soldat Server on FreeBSD wouldnt work due to the fact he was using FreeBSD... Weird.

I'm running my soldat servers on FreeBSD as well, and they work just fine (well after installing the core linux shared libs and enabling linux binary compatibility).

How do you open the UDP port using a normal PC as a server?
Or is that a router problem?

I have two PCs connected via a HUB > router > internet.
One works as a server and can register at lobby servers, the other can't :( . Why is that?
Yeh.. whatever.

You have a DMZ setup in the router for the computer that is working, most likely.
DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) allows you to route all traffic to one computer. It should work for the other computer as long as you setup port forwarding for it in your router config.

I highly reccomend you do NOT just use DMZ and instead take the time to set up proper port forwarding.  Using DMZ is dangerous and it exposts all of the ports on your computer to the internet, and there are most likely tons of virus infected computers trolling your ISP for computers to infect.

I learned this the hard way back when I used windows.  Do not use DMZ unless you are aware of the risks.  Read the manual (online or otherwise, www.portforward.com ) and learn how to set up proper port forwarding for:
23073 TCP and UDP
23083 TCP

optional:
23196 TCP and UDP (it is actually just one of them, I forget which) for ASE + game-monitor.com queries
