Maximum recommended gfx size (total and 'per file')
« on: November 22, 2007, 09:08:37 pm »
What is a reasonable 'maximum' size for all (nonstandard) gfx included in a map?
What is a reasonable 'maximum' size for any one single gfx file?

I've got a fairly large bmp that i intend to work out into a map via polyworks, i've figured out a lot of ways I can chop the file size down but since each 'chop' option presents its own downsides re: artistic integrity and work needed, I feel like asking these questions so I can kind of get a 'target weight' that I should be shooting for here.  Thanks in advance.

The pic in question can be viewed at http://www.korculainfo.com/photos/large%20panoramas/korcula-old-town-panorama.html

It will be a TW map, so most of the cool background of the city won't actually be involved in the gameplay.  But I do want to keep as much of it as I can for 'flava'.
