I'm really bored so I decided to suggest this thing. So, most of the default explosions to me look like in real life they would be exploding in midair instead of on the ground, what I'm saying is Example, 2 separate Sparks GFX for Midair explosions(Explosions that occur in the air)and explosions that occur on the ground(Explosions that take place when a explosive hits the ground.) So what do you think?

Great idea! The explosion could just be automatically rotated depending on what angle it hit from. Can't believe I didn't think of this.

the easiest way to have adaptive explosions (even if it is a lag magnet) is for the explosions to be made up of hundreds of pixels that fit together into something like an explosion but are not all part of the same image. this would mean when half the pixels hit the ground, they would spray back up or simply stop.
but this is, as I said, a lag magnet and would ruin online play

so as a compromise, f12
