What does it take to make you cry?
« on: December 08, 2007, 06:55:59 pm »
I know some people barely ever cry, like my dad. I've never in my life see him shed a single tear. But me when I go to a funeral I don't know why but I just cry. I went to a funeral and I don't know why but I just cried even though I didn't know the person. A lot of the people around were me crying except my dad. I never really cry when if its physical pain that is hurting me except if I get hit on the nose, i don't know why but water comes out. But when its something else that is reallllllllly hurting my feelings i cry. What does it take to make you cry phyically and/ or emotionally? I haven't cried for like 7 months now. How long has it been since you've cried?

I cry when something very emotionally disturbing happens (Someone I know dies, or maybe my GF breaks up with me, etc.) I haven't cried for a good 5 months now, though. Which can mean only one thing. Nobody's died and nobody's left me.

Messing up putting in contacts, and being punched in the nose.

I get the bottom lip quiver at funerals(of people I know)... but it takes something really harsh(Other then Christian things... most people don't get why, don't worry about it) to get me to cry. However my eyes fog up sometimes if I get really mad. I hope I never cry again... it sucks.

The last time i cried was when my grandmother died(i was 14), but thats because before she died i always treated her like she was nothing, reality hit me hard. Other than that, i dont really ever remember crying (besides when i was a kid), things dont really bother me, im laid back most of the time.

I guess I'd cry if somebody in my immediate family died. I know I cried when my mother was diagnosed with cancer, but I think that's a normal reaction. Physical pain doesn't make me cry, I just curse and shout really loud.

Being slightly emo, I got a bit misty a few hours ago listening to an orchestrated version of the original Zelda theme.

Many years ago when I was walking trough a graveyard I went past the childrens graves, and I saw someone had put the teddy bear of their child on the gravestone. It had been teared by the rain, and had a ribbon on it, and I just imagined the suffering of the parents of the little toddler.
The whole thing just really got to me.
I did shed a tear then, but in the later years none that I can remember.

Last time I remember crying was when my dog died, which is strange because I usually handle death pretty well. When my grandfather died I didn't cry, and he raised me from age 3. Weird.

My grandfather died, to which i was pretty close to him, he was that ww2-veteran-war-story-telling type of person, he would always teach me shit as a kid and i didnt mind listening, i like learning about shit like that.

Though, i never cried when he died, i was sad, but didnt really get to me, as we were always on good terms, hell he was old, we all die sometime.

My Grandmother died in her sleep. That was comforting, It was a shame to see her memory fail because of a simple problem that was fixed too late, then she lost her mobility when her hip broke. Then her kidneys started to fail and we put her in dialysis. The people there told us how nice she had been to them, just like everybody she ever met.

She was a Master Sergeant in the army. It was pretty sad to see such a strong woman fall without much dignity.

Hooray! I'm in the minority!

It's been about 13 months since I've cried (and for those Christian things you mentioned; at least, I assume we're on the same page).

I can get emotional for weird reasons though.  I can't recall an exact situation, but I know there are times when I felt that I was close to being on the verge of crying.  I try not to cry though; I know it doesn't TECHNICALLY make me less of a man to show feeling, but a guy's gotta look strong, you know?

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

Probably an urban legend, but I think people frowned upon men crying because your enemies could use your emotions against you.

sign of weakness. Making a crying man even more awkward to try and comfort than a crying woman.

I'm tad quite sensitive.. Don't cry/get affected about physical and insults that fail though.
