Each weapon needs skills, even the chainsaw. So all weapons are the same, the knife isn't more pro than saw or any other weapon, there's the answer.

If you mean "Is knife BETTER than saw?", then yes, in most cases it is.

Depends on the sawer ( i am a knifer) but some sawers are good with manuvering, but if you faced them one on one, most likely the knifer would win, unless the sawer was excellent at surprising.

something that would never happen in a 1 on 1, so yeah, knife is superior to saw in most if not all aspects.

saw owns..for knife you just have to be able aim well but with saw you need to know when to duck, when to superman, when to fake when to just run straight it's a lot more skill

Knife takes more skill. Chainsaw is just a matter of luck based off server-side timing.

I would use a chainsaw... if it was possible to throw the damn thing and decapitate someone like you would with a knife, but just a lot funnier and gorier. IMO, the knife is better.. not more pro, as many said, all weapons require skill to use.

In terms of precision, the knife is to a scalpel, as the chainsaw is to...well, a chainsaw. I guess there really isn't any "better" between the two; it's all determined by who's doing the fighting.

Yeah, you're right, it depends on other things. Close up, and to kill multiple enemies, Chainsaw is the way to go, Knife is used for long range, or when your weakened.

I love this discussions and their pointlessnes.
Lets put it this way, you will need a good movement if you are running around sawing people but for the knife you'll need aim, movement is not as important as with the chainsaw.
It all depends on the situation. In my eyes Knife and Chainsaw can be played "pro".

Btw, Im a knifer.

Well, we clearly have a different definition of the word "pro." I think it means a weapon which takes a lot of skill and time to master, but once you have, you'll dominate with it (I usually call it "pr0" to differentiate between getting paid to do something or doing it as well as someone who gets paid to do it). You seem to think it means a weapon which will always kill. So, I'm going to say that the chainsaw is more "pr0" than the knife based on my opinion. I also consider Deagles pr0.
Then again, anything can happen in a game. So don't take my word for it, use what you find works best for you.

Hi I am ''Evil Homer'' and have played in 3-4 years.
*knife is generally the best secondary weapon,
but in small maps with many people chain can be better,
and that would be the only time you should use it, (maybe some other situations)

*if you want to be 'pro' with chain, your walking is important (and very hard)

*chain can be good to surprise with, so if you are good you could make it work.

*1-1 = chain useless (I'm talking about a good lvl  ''pro lvl :D''

*knife needs accuracy, but chain is much harder to be pro at.

anything I have forgotten?
knife is generally best, but chain for surprise and small maps or many players, or just for fun :p

my defenition of 'pro': you pick the right gun(m79 or whatever) as long as you WIN.
I also use law in some maps, it all depends on the situation.

Yes, you're the only one in the entire game of Soldat who plays with a Socom.

Best weapons are the ones easy to use, hard to master... they function well in the user's hands, but can dominate the game in a veteran's hands

If I had to put a name to those weaps, it'd have to be the Barrett, Ruger, Knife, and M79.

sicne you need to be closer when you use the saw, and you can just thorw the knife, the knifer whould kill the sawer in most cases

yes, but if you are gonna kill many, chain can b best.  and when you spawn, its faster to change to chain, instead of knife(and throw it)

and if you are pro, it can be easier to use chain in speed.

I use the socom as a primary and destroy teamfulls...
its all about the mastery, they can be considered equal if they are practiced with, but at the start, knife does have an advantage over the chainsaw.
