Jesus rode a dinosaur (in space)
« on: December 12, 2007, 09:46:55 am »
Take a look at the video below:

http://www.sadlyno.com/archives/8114.html

Here's another:

http://www.sadlyno.com/archives/7226.html

The number of assumptions/flat out wrong statements in these videos astounds me.  Does it astound you?  If you find these to be as much bullocks as I do, then speak up on it.  Let's hear your reasoning.  Personally, I don't see how can be so straight faced when going through these ridiculous strings of reasoning.

Did you know that because new life doesn't grow in a jar of peanut butter if means evolution doesn't exist.  I, for one, am convinced.

Spam-free discussion commence.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is

The big bang says the universe formed by "pure MECHANICAL means"?

People like that make me sad.

So just because we donĀ“t have all the answers and there are some discrepancies in the theories (even though a lot of the things mentioned here are just blatantly incorrect) there must be a god. Ah yes, makes perfect sense.

I don't have anything against faith or against challenging what is assumed to be scientific fact but this is just dumb, annoying and unfounded and I bet a lot of religious people are ashamed by the nonsense people like this sprout as well.

Hahaha... I love the senseless reasoning... "If the universe evolved then planets would all spin the same way"

Unfortunately these things would actually make sense to under-educated (and possibly a lot of well educated yet despairingly naive) theists. Pretty disturbing I have to say.

It doesn't matter which side you're on... you have to admit that the (truly) scientific never take such cheap and misdirecting/irrelevant shots as those

I don't think anyone will ever create a theory that won't have some major errors in it.

The Big Bang theory is a theory in progress. It is constantly being tweaked and perfected as scientific understanding advances.

It's not like religion which says "This is right and it doesn't need to be proven because faith is a virtue and that must be true because it's in an old book, therefore anybody who questions it despite how much more intelligent they are than the people who wrote this book is wrong.

... oh and if anybody actually does prove this wrong then we can actively alter its meaning to something obscure and meaningless (example: God is love)
"

The only arguments I see against evolution/big bang theory/the anthropic principal etc... are completely invalid ones purposely taken wildly out of context with the intent to make those theories look absurd.

As my personal opinion, i think homosexuality is unnatural, i mean even animals who have a lower brain function than us dont have male on male/female on female entanglements. Although, i dont force this opinion on anybody, i just avoid gays (except women, but yeah im not going to get into that)

There wasn't anything about gays in the videos ;>

And the ending almost made me cry; "The evidence that God created live is so obvious that you won't have an excuse if you are wrong."

dude, the big bang theory is just as weak as the 'theory' of there being a god.
the theory of the evolution of life isnt necesarily related to the big bang theory.
also the entire 'scientific' way of measuring and taking conclusions from that is also kinda proven wrong by the quantum mechanics.
and to who posted something about gays, there are in fact gay animals.

Actually (like Bombski posted simultaneously with me), homosexuality occurs all throughout the animal kingdom. You should do some better research before you make statements like this. Homosexuality has been documented in over 450 different vertebrate species thank you very much. There are even species of animals that have gay orgies! Stop posting such blatant nonsense without doing any prior research whatsoever.

This is exactly the reason religion takes so much flak, because of people making uneducated guesses and basing their further reasoning on this guesswork.

Science is not perfect, but at least empirical reasoning is based on something more than just hot air, something some guy said or a stuffy old book.
