You cant have a conversation on mail.

Well you can, but then it will be very slow conversation.

I'm using MSN and sometimes mIRC. ( They won't cause any #DirectHook problems )

MSN is horrible and laggy.

Xfire gets the job done without eating my system memory.

IRC, on the other hand, works perfectly.

And what the hell are you going on about with e-mail? You can't use e-mail to hold a conversation with Soldat.

Msn/windows live beats the piss out of AOL, which is popular around here.

IRC is alright, but waiting for something to happen isn't for me.

Xfire is utter crap.

vent is ok

Skype is the best VOIP around, but nobody uses it.

Xfire is the best IMO, but only gamers are there.
MSN is okay, its what I use to chat with my friends. Everyone is available there so I have it running constantly
IRC is for getting spammed with SCTFL requests and retarded mass chatting.

all the background rape xfire does? No. Xfire does the stupidest things, it doubled my ping playing games (what it is supposed to be for) Msn is negligable, even with VOIP, xfire sucked at voip. also downloaded updates slow as dirt, so i never used it.

Xfire wastes HDD space, memory in it's horrible chat client with terrible "features" and bandwidth, shitloads of bandwidth.

MSN doesn't waste any bandwidth, barely any HDD space or memory. so shut the hell up.

Sorry 4yo, but Xfire affects me not.

My updates download lickity-split. I don't use VOIP in Xfire, that's what Vent is for. No matter what game i play, Xfire has negligible effects on my ping and bandwidth. It has yet to eat all my memory by staying idle, too.

Works perfectly for me.

gmail, google talk, and IRC.  All of the mail services for MSN (MSN, Live, Hotmail) break standards and lose e-mail.  Yahoo is pretty bad too.  I recommend gmail or... I'm not sure who else.  ISPs provide good e-mail services

AIM, Gmail, occasionally Xfire. mIRC only if I feel like playing a gather.

I use MSN when talking to friends and IRC when talking to soldat players, usually they're both in use at the same time.
