And by help, I mean, can someone tell me how to do it. In a really simple way so I can understand. I'm new...just imagine you're explaining it to a small child

This sure seems to happen a lot.
Modding Soldat is just replacing the existing game files with new ones; it's really that simple, basically.
A lot of people like using regular old MS Paint to edit the graphics, but you'll probably want something like CoolEdit or Audition or whatever else to edit sounds, if you want to do that.
Modding weapon stats is done by modifying the file weapons.ini.
Consider just exploring around inside your Soldat folder and seeing what goes where.

hmm, I can't open that modguide in wordpad...Unable to load graphics conversion filter blah blah. One other thing I wanted to ask is, if I mod Soldat, are the changes permanent or can I keep the original settings aside so I can restore them at any time, or switch to a different mod?
EDIT - Problem with reading the guide is no longer a problem, I'd still appreciate some advice on the other matter though. Thanks.

Mods go into seperate folders within the game root, so that you can have multiple mods in one soldat folder. They are run by a parameter, which means that soldat itself is not changd at all when a mod is installed (so long as it's done properly). I'm not going to explain it anymore, since the other stuff is more complex.

OK, thanks. Sorry to keep posting here, but I promise this will be the last time...the guide that eagle linked me to assumes that the reader is using paintshop pro, which I'm not, and it says that you should resize images of real weapons to 15% of their original size..as this can't be done in paint, roughly how many pixels am I looking at?
EDIT: Forget that, I figured it out myself..however (sorry) how do you change the ingame weapons menu to show the names of the guns you've added? Thanks.
