Access violations due to long names
« on: December 26, 2007, 10:55:12 pm »
Whenever I am killed by someone with a long name or kill someone with a long name, I get this access violation:

I looked at the frequent-questions-about-bugs thread, did what it said and changed the font size, but I still get that access violation. Any suggestions?
For signatures, you are allowed only one image in your signature which may not be wider and taller than 300 and 125 pixels, and may not be over 20kB in file size. No BMPs are allowed.

I switched over to windowed mode and still received the error.
I don't have a GeForce card.

I don't think this is hardware-specific or anything, but it has been observed by others.  I thought it was already fixed, but I guess not.  In that case, it should be fixed in 1.5

I think it's hexer that will kick people for having names longer than 20 characters, since, for most people, more than 20 characters can cause AV's when you kill or get killed by that person.
