Realistic Survival
« on: January 03, 2008, 12:50:28 pm »
For a beginning to fight spying there should be an option in the server:
------------------------
AllowTeamChatWhenDead= off/on

Easy to implent and if he want to spy he must talk in usual chat with something like (DEAD) behind his nick or not.

Go WAR AGAINST SPYERS!

I don't see the big deal about spying really.
I just spy with a mic with my friends, so much easier..
But I guess something like this could be implemented

I don't like this. Alot of times, you need to plan for upcoming rounds when you're dead. You might aswell disable chatting altogether if you can't type when you're dead.

Well, there should be an additional text indicator in chat that shows their dead.

My idea...

He's not saying to disable chatting when dead, only to make a different area for them to type in when dead, so that you, still alive, can't see what they are typing.

Indeed, and to chariot point, when new rounds start nobody can move for like "amount of seconds editable" 5 seconds so you can do your tacs then. So server counts down 5 4 3 2 1 GO!
Also this is directed to R/S as a whole not just my server (not even got one). Besides, it's easy and cool.

Plus more and more scripts = more lag.

What i gathered from this was he meant that you cannot talk in team chat when your dead but you can talk in the 'public' chat (both teams can see) when your dead, with something that marks your name showing your dead.

f12, even though ventrilo would defeat this purpose :P

In CoD what happens is that if you are still alive, you only can read other alive members chat. If you are dead, you can read both alive and dead members chat.

Perfect solution. CoD's way would work too.

Yeah, Phil's idea is an improvement, but it still wouldn't leave much time to plan.

Isn't it a better idea? So you can plan, but can't tell where the enemies are.
