NA Soldat failing.

These recent months have shown us that modern NA soldat is falling in both skill and stability.  A lot of old vets are retiring, good clans are dying, and theres nobody to fill in the spaces. 

In the past NA Soldat was a solid powerhouse, now go look at the SCTFL standings and tell me how many of them are NA.

A couple of people at Fracs are thinking of making a NA soldat "Training Squad". This would be very skilled players helping out people of lesser skill and making them better. Its only an idea, but I think it'll work.

One of the foundations of NA soldat is the IRC network, most notably #sna.gather I'm not saying "play gathers be pro" its just sna gather channel is a massive holding tank for NA players and clans.

I'm not really sure if I conveyed it properly, so I'll sum it up: NA Soldat is a crap phase and we need help.

I heard R7 was taking in a few guys just to play fcw's with, to get them exposed to the clan scene, and to expose them to the good clans. I commend them !

there are alot of NA players its just there in the PUBS which makes them shitty..... should try and convert them into Gather which would get them alot better and having them make there own clans for NA side

It's been said time and time again so there is no point to me repeating it.... But I will say that at least there is an example this time, Flacid(Gorby) has done gathers and is now pretty damn good in my opinion. Probably better than me, haven't played him in a while.

Somehow this sounds like that you are comparing NA against EU. Are you? I hope not.

The thing is, the sna community is not newbie friendly. People flaming others for sucking and telling them to quit. Better players blaming the lesser skilled people for losing eventhough they did not do good themselves.

Also most good clans are not openminded about recruitin new yet skilled players, they are always sticking with those oldies.

so the best thing to do is..to be more openminded about it and... pray?

I dont think there is a game that is newbie friendly, not one i have played at least. If that is the reason people dont play in gathers, they need to not be so sensitive, its the internet for fucks sake.

I think its because people dont take soldat serious like this, they just play to play and to do that they just want a get-in-get-out type game, which is the publics. Maybe there are some who dont know how to work IRC and some who could give 2 shits about IRC. The ones that do want to get better or play with better people eventually find there way to gathers or a clan. Small American Community in a european game.

I know that sna.gather isn't newbie friendly but seriously, let's face it, which community doesn't have douchebags? I think that newbies should just ignore those players that flame them and just listen to the ones that give them advice.

In soldat, douchebags dominates the community.

Also the Gather community should start to use other play modes, make things more fun and interesting. New maps should be implemented too.

I don't have soldat on my computer currently, it's having a feck of a time with any game and I don't care to fix it.

Also it's really not as hard for new players as people think, if people just act cool and play they will get respect. When I started I was cocky, there were no gathers and the clan I dedicated myself to wasn't even that good at the time. I think I am, at the very least, accepted by the "sna community" now with a total of maybe 30 gathers.

Well Im new to the whole forums thing, im sure if u suggest anything for me to be more active let me know ill do what ever it takes to keep the NA side alive. Also i was looking around the forums but didnt Team USA in the Soldat World Cup place 4th or something. which i thought was pretty good compaired to the other cuntries(Spelled That Wrong By A Mile) that should have done alot better, like al the Polish teams, or and Europe teams in fact. But thats just my opinion correct me if i am wrong

The problem i think is that people don't know that a clan-scene exists... (im from europe so who knows if im right about a NA) but, when i started to play soldat back in v1.1.4 i played around 2 years of public before i got into a clan playing active cw's and from there i learnt about the "wider" community. Maybe speak to some public server admins and get them to broadcast some "info" messages "Ever played Cw's / gathers?" etc etc... spam links for clan sites, forums and things. Also you only tend to see Americain clans that are "known" why is this? There has to be clans that are not "pro" so low-skill players have somewhere to go and progress. In this way theres a sort of foundation for the "scene..." So encourage clan creation ... i'm not sure how you could do this... maybe "pro" clans could lend servers this might help new clans play more actively....

The low skill clans are here in the forums actually as far as recruiting goes, the higher skilled clans lay low from all the publicity in IRC.

I also see no reason why people dont know that a clan community exists, more than often you'll see someone either with a clan tag or saying 'looking for clan' in the public servers.

Actually, its extremely rare for a clan community clan (Theres like 9-12 total) to go to public servers to find clanwars, usually those are what we refer to as public clans, or noob clans.

Most of the clan community is on IRC, #sna.gather is the main channel from where you can do almost anything related to the NA clan community (Find clans, find clanwars, make clans, practice in gathers) and so on.
