The Guide To Stealth
« on: January 08, 2008, 07:44:19 am »
Well many will call it camping but, thats not accurate.

i was playing "bigfalls" and had like 4 other people on the server
i had my full camo suit and a Barret, in that form i can lay on the
ground almost anywhere and not be seen, so i flew towards the nearest battle
proned in midair and fell on the ground. no one saw me do that and i was free to snipe at the suckers

and btw stealth is not camping,
camping is sitting around in one spot for a long time WAITING for people to come,
stealth is being able to take people out by SNEAKING up on them.

obviously you will have some noob yell " OMFG Camper" but you will know thats not true
because you came to him and killed him not waited in some bush for him to come.
stealth by my point of view is just another way to play the game.
it does have some positives and negatives:

the good:
you do get some pretty sweet kills
the bad:
it is sometimes frowned upon by people if you overdo it

i think that its good to so it but, has to have a mix of
both normal play as well as stealth.

some basic tips:

1. the whole idea is to not be seen, so wear camo!!
    meaning green pants
    an olive shirt
    dark green hair
    dark skin
    green jets
    and have dreadlocks for hair
its important to not wear all the same color or you will stick out
in the bushes because they aren't in only one color

if you wear that suit then you wont have a problem laying in the grass without being seen

2. have a good gun such as
Barret- duh..... one hit kill and long range
Ruger-not as good as the Barret but has more shots and is harder to detect
Knife-good for getting the players that foolishly step on you or come within range

3. don't suck
don't hide in the big bush normal campers hide in pick a grassy spot that only you can be there with your       camo

don't sit waiting for the whole match like a camper go and find a fight
DON'T TALK WHILE HIDING it will give away your position with the big letters over your head.

4. the rest you will have to find out on your own

Any way i hope you enjoyed my guide and remember
my name in game is =666=CommandoBunny

pm me on any questions comment
and post here.

First of all: You can NEVER win any DM game with this kind of playing. No chance. In Deathmatch the idea is to get as much kills as possible, camping, YES CAMPING, is the worst way achieving this.

Second of all: You won't learn anything while CAMPING, or being "stealth". Actually the whole term does not exist in Soldat. Being stealth is for cowards who can't take it 1v1.

My guide for CommandoBunny: Don't be "stealth", be a man and play aggressively, go play some Soldat, play alot, play play and play more, after a while read this and join #sna.gather and play some gathers. After few weeks get into some clan, play ALOT with the clan, enter SCTFL, try to get into playoffs, after SCTFL play even more, play SO FUCKING MUCH, and enter next SCTFL, and WIN IT!

Thats the only thing you need to follow, thats what the pro people do, they play alot. They never read any guides, they don't need any guides. Actually any guide written is quite stupid IMO, SO BASIC. Just like Soldat is.

Play hard, go pro!

Well listen

1 I DO PLAY AGGRESSIVE I OWN IN DETHMATCH
2 I am only writing this as information
3 i can go one on one
4 like i said using stealth is good if you DON'T OVER DO IT!!! it will be good at times when you need to reload ect..
5 i did win a DM match using this once
6 no its not the worst way a person can win there are much worst ways
7 and stealth does exist in soldat as off now :)
8 you dont have to like it but some people like this way of playing and there is nothing you can do about it

well all that said and done
its still is important to know that its not fun to use ONLY stealth
you should use it for reloading and for saving your skin.

btw call it what you like its only a tactic in soldat gameplay.

so there i think i made my point.

It is obvious that people hide when they reload, you need no "camo suits" to hide. Also any decent player knows if there is something in the grass, you can not hide there. And if you do, in case he sees you, you are dead before you can even aim, since he will toss 2 nades at you and give you 10 bullets of AK/AUG to chew.

It is like using M79 in Arena2 against 10 other players. You can make kills, but you can't survive. The only way to survive is to kill those who try to kill you, and only weapon to do that is semi-autos/autos. Barrett is too slow, so is M79.

Well, stealth sucks, unless you're playing TW.

And for that, this guide is fairly inaccurate.

Stealth is my favorite game play style. But not the kind of you mentioned here. My stealth type is a way, to get to the base unseen, capture the flag, and escape the same way, leaving enemy no chance to spot and inform other teammates about my position.  :)

What I also don't seem to like here is your weapon choice. You shouldn't be picking a ruger or a barret simply because they stick out and are quite long. There's no point in going for long-range kills when sneaking, so it's better to pick an MP5, it's short and has a fast fire rate, good to kill enemies at close range.

that's not as easy as it sounds
if you are proned then to get up will take time and you will be a sitting duck
a barret will kill instantly

Err.. Everyone does that.

What you said is like saying "My way to play CTF is to get the flag and return it to our base". :P

Yeah, and everyone spots you and drops a nade at you.

Well, stealth would be good in realistic survival INF matches when you are on Alpha team, however Soldat isn't the game where you sneak behind your enemy and stab him with a knife. Attacking your enemy while running straight to him and shooting the hell into his face is the way you play Soldat.

Why would one want to come to somoene without being seen, then drop on the ground, aim and shoot?

Alot easier to come to someone, press the trigger and let them feel the pain.

And I don't care what I am ranked.
Still, Soldat is too fast for this. If you like sneaking, play other games, like Hitman.

I would like see some nice spots in default maps that are used usually for camping... I would add some, too.
