Best Secondary For A Sniper

I've noticed some different opinions on this one.  Some say knife, others say chainsaw.  All secondaries have their specific pros and cons.  I'm curious, what do you think?

USSOCOM for me:
-fast reload
-medium range
-generous clip
-fast rate of fire
-decent damage
-its good enough that i've seen it being used as a primary weapon

I'd never leave the base without my knife in the 2ndary slot. I like it because it has style, can fly far and has a nice curve. I wouldn't ever pick the chainsaw because it just can't fly like the knife and as a sniper, you're usually not fast enough upon the opponent.

So, knife for me.

Socom for a sniper, some people can even use it as a damned primary (Outy). :(

Law is great if you are defending also for a sniper, knife isn't very good for them because most retts don't rush.

I use the socom when i'm using m79, ruger and the barrett.

Otherwise I mostly use the knife with autos.

It really depends on the players accuracy.

If is a bit twitchy with the Barrette and misses a few shots every now and then, he should keep a Ussocom at his side.

If he snipes opponents like an aimbotter, the knife is all he'll need actually.  He could just use the Barrette for long range shots.

Overall, I reconmend to stick with the Ussocom just to be on the safe side.

chainsaw is pretty useless for a sniper, considering they spend their time away from everyone.

Law is a bit bad due to the reload time of it.

Soccom is fine

I think it depends on how you like to play. I'm a rusher no matter what weapon I'm using, so I rush even with barrett and knife seems to be going well for me. Most of my kills with barrett are close range as I'm rushing to enemies base.

But I guess the best weapon with m79/barrett would be ussocom...

IMO, Socom is a great combination with the barrett. The knife works well aswell, but I would never choose the law. This would leave you exposed for a very long time waiting for the reload of both weapons. So unless you have 1337 fisting and nading skills, I'd say keep away from the law when choose barrett.

Socom for snipers, because when you're reloading you're sniper and 2 or more of the enemy is charging at you, hall out the Socom and blast away, now if you have a knife well thats only one of them unless you're so quick that you can pick up the knife you threw and kill the second guy before he gets to you...but that never happens so socom it is  (personally knife ftw, but i don't snipe mp5/knife)

USSOCOM, unless you've mastered Combat Knife so it's 100% hit if you must prefer it.

socom can bink other snipers very well annnnnd..... it's like a highly accurate, short range, prIMAry....cow

Socom, whenever I miss they go for an easy kill - then I backflip and put a few holes in their face.

Depends on how you play. If you "snipe", a.k.a sit in the base and desperately try to hit incoming enemies before they spray you down, then having LAW might be good idea.

If you play defensive(won't let anyone get past you) then in case you miss, you might want to use socom to even hurt the enemies.

If you play offensive(Just go for the flag) then having knife can be valuable; with high speed it is rather easy to get close enough to the enemy without being killed.

I, personally, have been a long time user of the knife.


However, the SOCOM is the most powerful secondary in the hands of an experienced player. It will be more useful to carry a SOCOM instead of a knife. Since with the knife you have but one try with it.
