Soldat server to hold more then 32.

Although this may not be used alot, but what if soldat had server capabilities of over 32 people? We could have huge megamaps and such, there could even be MMOFPS servers with huge maps, special modifications and rankings. The main reason i'm suggesting this is so you could also have over 32 bots in a server.
Just a thought.

Isnt a good idea anyway, even with more then 32 theres gonna be m79 whoring and grenades to the max, Again!

I don't really have any input on this suggestion, but I wanted to point out:

If you added 32 bots and it lagged, then it was your computer that was the problem, not the game's.  If someone has an uber computer and wants 32 bots, they can have them. 

Same with what you said about a server with 32; if a server admin wants to run a 64 player game, it is up to him to use maps that discourage grenages and m79 usage, or maps that are big enough to spread everyone out.

Soldat only lets you put in 30 bots.

Yes! I was thinking of making a ginormous city map that required 32 players, but 64 would be truly awsome. MMOSSs rock.

Yeah, you could have huge multi-area'd map and kewl things like that. Only thing is youd need a really mighty strong krush server, and everyone else needs cable:) (or broadband/dsl)

Oh, and  ThomasMortfog...... GET THOSE DAMN AD'S OFFA MY TOPIC  :(

I tried making it 64.... didnt work. Anything over 25 will lag and result in players warping everywhere, no matter how much of a super-beast your computer is.

isnt that because of the bad directplay code though? the problem is that the variable that holds the player numbers is 6 bit, we would need a variable to tell that variable how big to be. not too big of a problem, but you never know what new hacks could abuse the simplest of things. plus the problem with the sectors, there is only 50. that is fine for most maps... but once they start getting humonguos...it  would be haerd on the majority of soldat players computers. so the mps file format would need to be remade. maybe once mm releases source code the community can work together on a big project that would allow this.

Soldat's directplay now?! Thought MM used indy 8 or something.. (i think 0.9.4b had directplay)

Soldat doesnt use DirectPlay, its using BlackUDP with Indy.

Exactly. Run, Shau, and even a huge map like Outpost feel cramped with 16 to 24 people. :|
