My drawing. EDIT: Why not post your drawings too :)
« on: January 13, 2008, 10:37:45 am »
Even though I don't play Soldat that much, I remember all the great time I had with this game.
I loved when you got the flag and made the rush back to your base.
So, I actually tried a moment like that, and here is the result.
I might continue to work more with it, currently I have worked about 20-30 minutes on it.

The dude is supposed to look like my avatar :D

Nice job on the person, the rest is passable given that it's not finished.

What is your problem?
In every post I've read of yours you're always trolling about something or other.
And i don't see you attempting to draw anything, Only scorning other forumers.

Anyway, Looks alright, maybe spend a little more time on it and practice a bit :D
Lol, internets.

It's just in ALMOST every one of your posts you're trolling about something(Or it seems)
I mean the guy went out of his way to put something up and you call it shit right of the bat, At least you could offer some pointers, Seeing as you said you're an artist yourself.
Lol, internets.

Swebonny, your drawning looks kinda messy and unfinished. I cant belive it took you 20-30 minutes. I guess you're a beginner. Dont worry, everybody needs to start somewhere.
I would be glad to see how the finish results looks.

Does this satisfy you Pie?

Bah, If you've put it just to shut me up then i fail to see the point in putting it at all, Sure at least you're not crushing the kids dreams of being a great artist anymore.
You've got to admit, You wouldn't be to happy if you did something you felt was good enough for you to publish (That's what it's called when you stick stuff on the internets even if it is stupid) And they instantly shot you down?

And this has been off topic for far to long.

But yeah, try and practice a bit more, look at other peoples work and see if you can understand what it should look like and how it looks, That will help you teach yourself.
Lol, internets.

Not bad swebonny. It is really showing the greatness of Soldat.
Now I assume that you scanned the image with an older scanner so a little quality gets lost. But from what I can see I'd suggest that you use more pressure as the lines are very weak. Do not be afraid of doing so. You might also try and get some shading on that or add lines where shadows fall. It will make the images more alive.

I'm training now myself to do good drawings. So far I've done decent ones but I'm training and I'm going to get better. Do not give up on drawing and do not listen to people that just bash you.

And now something from me. Just to make it more on-topic lets just pretend that this is a drawing of a female soldat :D

I like it and I also like the explosion. Just that red guy back there seems a little off. Only problem I see with the main character is that he's not really looking like he's running, he looks rather as if he was walking.

Oh man. You should never have to label your drawings.

Person's not bad, I like the sketchyness, but it's a complete void, otherwise. You need a background, bub, and put some more effort into the BG details.

Blackdevil, looks like a pencil portrait of a Tim Burton claymation character. I like it, though it's a bit messy. Get a scanner! If you used a scanner, get a new one! Mine was $80, and that was a million years ago.

Yeah it's made by hand, not a drawing of Burtons characters though. I know that the perspective is a little off but meh still learning ;D. I was thinking of getting a scanner(the picture is taken with my phone cam) so i can color my pictures but I'm planning on getting a new computer first.

Disagree with you, Svirin. I like bonny's sketch more than most soldat fan art I see. Yes, it lacks a true BG, and yes it lacks detail. But overall, the feeling is much more on-target than 90% of what you can find and overall, the simplistic feel of the drawing is elegant and iconic -- a lot like Picasso's Don Quixote poster...thing. I woulnd't advise bonny to get locked into the conventional art format, really. If you want to be nitpicky, your art isn't photorealistic either. ;)
