I think it's a lie, actually it is a lie. It's like 6/6/06 or 7/7/07 or how about the classical one 11/11/1111 They all past, they will page again, we have no dooms day, it's a load of shet little kids like to believe. In third grade I went around "warning" or scaring the shet outa my class saying Osama Bin Laden would bomb the whole world on 2/2/02 and they were all scared shet. I told them it would happen on groundshogs day and Earth would collapse. It's a bunch of shet, the world has been around for 4.6 billion or trillion? years and the Earth and Sun are fine, the Earth's atmosphere and global warming is fine, Don't put stupid idea's in your mind.

Its a theory that some kind of gravitational universal force will destroy the Earth and all the other planets and everything will restart itself.  Much like the Sun after several billion years. Ours is about half way there.

Many ancient civilizations have predicted it with their ways.  The Aztecs, Merlin, The Chinese, Indians, and Witchcraft.  Many of them have predicted that very day.  Others are several years or dates off.  I'll describe how the Chinese have predicted it.

There is an ancient book from the generations from the emperors or something like that, I can't exactly remember.  His physic wrote down events in the book and created a timeline of the history of man.  It very accurately predicted The Fall of Rome, The Great Depression, WW2 and the Nazis, and the 9/11 attacks.  But for some reason that puzzles historians is that the timeline mysteriously stops at the date 12/21/2012.  And the scary part of it is that since it is so unbelievably accurate and predicted nearly every famous or infamous event in history, many believe that the date at the end will the end of all of us.

It is a fact that the world will end someday, but we're not sure if it'll end that very day.  I don't really have much opinions on it.  I'm going to spend these remaining years, if they're to be our remaining years, seeking for something to do with my life since I currently lack one. :P

Not final day, just end of old world, when new world replace him immediately at the same place, at the same rules, only different in details like alternative reality, new generation. Ater this, world never come to the end like neverending loop, which still change, mutate, evolve, even  if is still similiar, same "movie", storyline. Most of people dont see the differences if they still live but in different world border. ;)

Such language RM. =)

Seriously though, I don't believe this will ever happen. Yeah, we have problems, but when has any outside forces affected something?  Last time I heard of anything was thousands of years ago.

I'd think about things a bit more carefully if I were you.  The Earth has been around approximately 4.65 billion years or so, and while it is fine now that doesn't mean it was always fine.  The Earth has gone through multiple cataclysmic events in the past, undergone multiple sessions of global warming and cooling, and will continue to be the target of foreign bodies in the universe like asteroids and the like for years and years.  Earths atmosphere was similarly not always "fine", and is a very easy beast to change (at least for the short term).

While I don't believe in the date myself, such things cannot be ruled out as a possibility.  More likely not a probability, but it only takes one such event to change your tune.

Also, saying shet less would be nice.  Not helping.  [retard]

I don't believe anything catastrophic will happen.

Unless there are some sinister religious cults out there (which there are) who will make the world end on 12/21/2012. Although hopefully they'll just kill themselves off.

The whole 2012 thing is supposed to be based on the Mayan Calendar, even though there is no evidence that says the Mayans even predicted anything would happen.

Some people thought the world was going to end on Dec 31st 1999. Remember the hype? Remember those Christians who committed mass suicide?

Again, you have to look past any kind of idiotic opinion and realise the truth. Years, months, days, hours. They are all just numbers. A mathematic equation which represents where we are. If the Roman Empire hadn't collapsed then the date now would be something like the year 2707. (They started counting from the founding of Rome, but then Christianity was invented and the Christians decided to start counting from scratch)

This is just another one of those "End of the world" annoyances that happen here and there, similar to the whole Y2K scare. Sure, a few computers were affected - but it was barely noticed, only at the individual level.

Don't make yourselves paranoid, soon enough it'll already be December 22, 2012 and nothing has happened...

Oh, I dunno...how about 65 million years ago with the extinction of the dinosaurs and the majority of the species on the planet?  Or if that's too old, how about 50,000 years ago at Meteor Crater, Arizona?  It doesn't take much to cause large problems, and the evidence for craters is all over the place.

Edit: Sarcasm?  I've been around non-sarcastic people too much...
