How many people do you usally play with?

For me its anywhere around 6-12 players (usually) any less is kinda boring, more is just a complete spew of bullets and nades and it doesn't take much skill because all you have to do is shoot around aimlessly and you get a kill.

5-7, excluding myself. Six players and a correctly adjusted respawn ( 3-5 secs ) is just enough to make most of the ctf / dm maps fun, with a 4v4 suitable for the bigger ones ( like B2b, Laos ). That way it's just rewarding to get a triple kill and get away with the flag, since each enemy player poses as much of a threat on gather as a smaller pack of public pros would on any other server ( with more players ).

My favourite is 3 vs 3 CTF. I tend to like calmer games rather than , say, a 6 vs 6 because it tends to get too busy xD

I beg to differ, it makes it easier for you to die because of all the bullets/nades going everywhere so u can just throw a nade and someone somewhere is gonna hit it.

It requires stat whoring, which is not exactly skill. Kill two people, run back for medic, kill another two, repeat, sneak into the enemy base, kill a few, get the flag, escape over respawn, repeat again. Smack realistic up to that and it's even easier - spray kills fast!

3v3 for ctf usually, dm any number of players is applicable, same with team dm, as long as the teams are even. inf is rarely played along with rambo matches, it seems. ctf is the most common and 3v3 the most common amount of players i think..so practise with 3v3 and you won't go too wrong.

Most of the time it is 8vs8, though sometimes drops to 3vs3 2vs2. Then it becomes more like a team match, rather than a CTF or INF.  But its still fun. 8vs8 and 2vs2 game requires very different tactics, though some are the same. More player match ends in attempts to capture and escape as fast as possible, before you die, and less - more like a player hunting in order to safely capture and escape without worries, that someone might kill you.

And i don't think, that spamming on all publics is the best way to win.

In CTF the minimum is 3vs3, the maximum is 5vs5. More people means more lag.
In deathmatch vs7 or vs11.
