So I checked my spam on my Gmail account today and spotted this message that said "me" which means that it's sent by my Gmail account to myself. The thing is that I didn't send this message and Gmail gives a warning.

So i read the thing this warning links me to but it didn't give any useful info other than to be earful etc. So I'm wondering has my account been compromised or is someone able to send from a fake address acting like mine(I've seen these forms where you can enter from what address you want to "send" from)?

It's incredibly easy to forge the sender field. Then again, gmail seems to be smart enough to figure out that the sender doesn't match the SMTP server that it actually used.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's prolly some spam bot who fucked up.

He's saying there's no way to know if the site owner didn't just steal it from someone else. It's been floating around since the beginning of time, like all the other recycled quotes on that page (I can safely say this without actually bothering to look at the quote list because they're always the fecking same.)
