LAW is a little underpowered
« on: February 17, 2008, 10:14:45 am »
I have always seen people do kills with SOCOM, knife and chainsaw. But for some reason, rarely see LAW on the death console.

I suggest making reload time 125% faster. It isn't much, but it could make the crucial difference between weak and balanced.

Death is the solution to all problems. No man; no problem.

Thats a crazy idea. Tell me where you play, because rarely you will see a n00b killing so much with the law

its 1 shot 1 kill weapon, so is not overpowered, and you can kill more than one man with it, just shot when there is a lot of people

It is fine. No need to change it.

You must be playing offline..

Seriously, the law is like a mini one-shot barrett. It has absolutely no need to be upped anymore.

Just fix the delay, at the moment it fires randomly.

Which is way you continue to gollow the targets movement even when it's powering up. Seriously, the LAW is lethal enough as it is. There's a reason it's the most used sec. weap.

The randomness really sucks, it doesn't matter if you can follow them if you're dead before it shoots.

That's a general factor with every weapon in soldat. The LAW is not supposed to be as good as a primary weapon.

Even if you take away the delay/randomness of the LAW, it still wouldn't even come close to a primary.  The reload makes sure of that.  A lot of people don't like using it due to the randomness of the firing, along with the fact that if you get on a slightly bouncy poly, it pretty much won't shoot.

Yes, the law is a secondary weapon, therefore, you need not use it, it will never be more powerful then a primary weapon, and should not, the reload is fine, the thing is probably one of the most versatile secondaries in the game. For once, it is the only long range heavy artillery secondary in the game, therefore, it is fine as it is.

Trolling is the act of posting inflammatory messages, very controversial points of view, extremely obscene posts, aggravating a thread with redundancy or circular arguments, or posts that purposely defy the other posts in a thread purely for the sake of derailing the topic and obtaining attention. Trolling is sometimes unintended (like you, echo_trail), but other times it is done with intention, and the post's content in question actually doesn't reflect the opinions of the poster. Trolls are people like frogboy.

You missed the point of my post by a long shot, I agree it's not supposed to be as "good" as a primary. But what I said is not a general factor in soldat, I know when every other gun in the game is going to fire and don't have to depend on luck.

absolute F11, law can do sum double/triple/(luckily) multi kills. it's definitely not underpowered, but it would be nice if they have a faster reloading
