Agreed on the rifle. The new statgun looks great. Though, I have no idea what this whole energy cutlass deal is supposed to be.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

the Sniper rifle's barrel needs to be even longer(it looks BIG in Halo2)...

Agreed on the rifle.

I'm going to have to smite that one down because the gun needs to fit. It's already past the 42-pix long standard.

I think I should give you guys the current status, since really it's been a while, eh?

Lately I've kinda gotten bogged down with playtesting. I'm not liking the WM, namely things as:

>Bink rate for BR55
>Carbine DPS balance [underpowered]
>Needler DPS balance [slightly overpowered]
>Spartan Laser [needs to be more useful w/o being OP'd]

Also did some FRAPS footage of CP4, but it's like 70 Mb so and it's not even really high quality. I hate WMV compression... >.<

Oh well. I've also been fiddling with sounds. La Resistance gave me a few nice sounds but I'm right now in a morass trying to get the Spartan Laser sound to sound delicious.

hmm, does anyone else use the m7/caseless thing? im only playing cp3 i think (its the one that hiro sent me) but the gun really sucks. at vclose range with any other auto-gun it loses (PR, the no3 slot) and its useless at long range because of its low speed

Frankly I find it useful for anti-flood duty since it pushes back hordes, has a quick reload, and has a generous clip size.

Meh, I found it had merits if simply for its large clip. You can pop out while they are reloading. Admitadly it is weak, and a little hard to aim with, but if you use it for a while and get used to it then you can hold your own against most enemies.

Whenever I play, I never use the SMG.  It seems, and feels, too weak to use.

And the knife is only really useful to me when I throw it.  Other than that, it's too short ranged to really allow it to compete against something like a rocket launcher.

Well, same can be said about default soldat right? Who stabs with the knife? You can use the saw for that, but you can't throw the saw. ;)

I use it when I'm reloading and have to kill someone at close range quickly. I'm pretty sure it takes less time to charge than the rocket launcher right?

Pretty much. Knife tends to be more versatile, since RL only has 2 shots, and the E-Sword only has 100. Plasma Pistol would be my candidate for 'most useless,' though.

hmmm, i spose lol. its ok for finishing off a enemy who youve damaged but ran out of clip and couldnt kill.

btw is there anyway of improving bot AI when using the energy sword? ive noticed since they fire even when not at close range they run out of ammo very quickly

Lol, improving soldat bot ai? If you could do that, we'd all have done it already.

The only thing to be done about that is remove the no reload from the saw.

I think you should make the knife the oddball, or a "Skull" from halo 3, becausei don't like its look right now, and its not from the game. I liike the interface a lot, with the helmet, and i think you should keep that. Also, why is spartan laser where the minigun is? that doesnt make much sense, other then they both have to be charge-fire. It probably looks cool shooting a thousand lasers, so nevermind. Keep up the good work, and ill keep waiting...

Thats for the offline mode, where weapons wont need to act like they do in soldat (except for unchangeable stats like scope). For the online mod (where the weapons.ini will have to be default) the weapons will be in a different place.
