Flash animation.
« on: February 19, 2008, 01:36:09 am »
Well, i need to learn how to use flash in the space of, well, the space of a week at most.

I've got a few questions,

What program is easiest to use?
how would i learn said program?

(I'm using a tablet to draw the pictures frame by frame)

I need to know everything I can about flash animation within the next week or so.
Thank you muchly in advance for your help.
Lol, internets.

Just time line stuff? Making a shape go form A to B in x amount of time?
Or do you need to learn actionscript? Which is human interaction.

Flash just became open source (kinda). But the only IDE for Flash is called.... Flash.
However you can now compile a flash document legally for free. But you have to know a lot of actionscript.

If by "week" you mean 5 years then it might be possible.

That's alllllllll bad.
I need to learn action script, but it doesn't need to be super advanced.
I need to make a fairly short animation for Art.
As in man running, jumping, falling ect, So nothing super advanced, Is it possible?

I have a month to make it, So that's including the Frame by frame drawings.
So i don't necessarily need to use flash, just a program that runs LIKE flash.
But everyone suggested macromedia and adobe, But i know very little about anything like this.
Lol, internets.

Possible, yes. Easy no.
There are tons of free tutorials out there to help you learn but you really can not trust a lot of them.
You better off paying for something like this...
http://movielibrary.lynda.com/html/modPage.asp?ID=169
11 hours of training there. And I know there are promotions to get a month free from that site.

Silver light? I know its like flash but I have never seen the IDE.
Looking...

Thank you, So very much.
I've figured on reading a few flash tutorials, But alot of them aren't exactly helpful.
Also, I still can't find a good program, Adobe is being a git and doesn't want to wrok on my pc for reasons unknown to me. >_>
I'm going to try and "Borrow" Macromedia off of a friend and try and install that if all else fails.
Lol, internets.

If you can get flash to run on your computer, I can help you with learning animation.
When it comes to actionscript I can only do simple things like make buttons and really basic stuff.

Too bad you live in australia though. Won't be able to help you much with the timezones being so different.

You aren't going to be able to do that kind of animation in flash right off the bat in a week. Do a super high quality stick figure animation in whatever that stick figure animator is.

Although if you are stuck on Flash, For a few buttons, you won't need much action script at all, if it's just a start/replay button.

Well the basics are easy to learn. After that its really just about how much time you want to dedicate to perfecting the animation.

Well when i said "Flash" I meant as in animation, i don't really need buttons. As in, Make it so it runs smooth, And then transform it to a Amv or an mp4.

It's sort of like a short film all with hand drawn animations, And everyone i spoke to suggested flash.
I could do a bad version in Movie maker, but i don't think you can attach more then 3 frames per every second.

So, i now know i can't learn flash in a fast enough time, Drawing every frame by hand will take up most if not all of the time i need.
Is there a simple "Gimicky way/program that will make it easier and quicker that doesn't have a steep learning curve?

It doesn't need much, but i can't think of a way to do it.
Does this help at all?
Lol, internets.

Easytoon.
Yes, that was a joke unless you don't mind b&w.
I attend grammar school, last grade, and ignorance is all around me. Well, good for them. Ignorance is bliss.

Learn? If you are going to draw every frame by hand the only thing you have to know about flash is how to press the F6 button (new keyframe)

Only thing that would be slightly more complicated would be if you would be making use of tweening and stuff.
