Please help
« on: February 21, 2008, 04:29:28 am »
Hi guys,
I'm fairly noob to soldat, so what auto weapon do you think is the best to learn with and stick with?
Thanks

P.S. sorry if this question is just lame  :(

Try starting with the Aug, Then moving up to either Ak or minimi for long range if you prefer, or hk for short.

Otherwise, i'd stay away from the Aug, it's easy to use and a bitch to fight against, you might get yelled at.
Lol, internets.

Minimi is above all the easiest of all the autos use that instead.

ooh, thanks for the replies;
Though Minimi can't be THAT easy to use; nobody really uses it really well except SDFilm and if your shots don't count, you'll be in a reloading fix.
I'll probably go with the HK, because I am a knifer >STILL LEARNING< and I need something reliable for when I miss my throw and don't have time to pick up... would that be a good idea?

I'd say MP5 is the most 'reliable' weapon available, and a good place to start with.  Not necessarily the most effective in any particular field, but a well rounded and powerful weapon regardless.

Start with AUG or Minimi. I reckon they're easy. If you then think Autos arent the weapon for you, try semi autos (Deagles/Spas/Ruger), although theyre hard to master. THEN if you're still unhappy, go for the Barret or m79 (which isnt reccomended because these weapons are ALMOST useless in Clanwars if you intend to join a clan)

You mean you throw the knife when your hk runs out right?
Knife =/= primary weapon
If you're going to use it as a primary then you better not miss at all, you've no need for an auto to back you up.
You've got to either use it as a secondary and learn to aim with an auto, or use it as a primary and throw the auto away.
There's no middle ground really.

definitely minimi or aug. if you want power but a little off accuracy you'll like minimi(my fav)
you would wanna use aug for accuracy and fast fire rate. but i still would go for minimi the flaw is a 5 sec reloading for minimi

once you get used to minimi, i suggest deagles, ak-74 and (possibly) barret, if you like one hit kills with deadly accuracy

Deagles and ruger are by far the weapons of choice if you want to look pro.
Tip: Don't spray mindlessly. Use bursts of 3-4 bullets for a quick take-down of your opponents :)

Barret and M79 work wonders if you alt in a fcw/gather.

If he have just started, i don't think its any point in recommending wepons because they are good in clanwars, he need help to get started, and m79 or minimi is a good choice imo. he should'nt have to think 1 years in the future when he is playing this game.

hmm k, I know how to use M79, but I would rather have an auto gun; also nobody else recommend the HK?

well, I am still learning so right now I need something to back me up, also if my target who got nailed is too far away and someone is coming from behind...

HK is all right. it's most use is for distracting barrets im guessing (im berreter) and most of the CTF players will use that. it's quite handy because of the nice accuracy, damage, fast reloading, and fast shooting rate
the bad part is that HK is a short range gun. It's not recommended to use in long range. although it is good to try to arc if you're desparate.
HK would actually used in any modes.

I'd definitely go with the AK. Nice clip, pretty good damage, decent rate of fire, and medium/long range. Just don't hold it down for too long and you're set.

I can say that starting off with any of the precision weapons (DEagles, Ruger, Barrett) isn't that good of a choice. You're best off using autos to get a good feel for the game's mechanics before moving to weapons that require more accuracy. Personally, my favorite auto is the AK; it's my standby when sniping just doesn't cut it.

Minimi and HK both seemed to work fine for me, though the accuracy of HK doesn't impress me as much = D

I still say AK over minimi, because you lose a ton of accuracy while moving with the minimi. Still, since 1.4x they've been practically the same weapon, so...
