Ok so the grade nines at my school grew half a walnut of a brain and figured out that you could bypass the command prompt ban by merely typing shutdown -(censored) and entering the computer name. Lets em shut down any computer on the network (theres an alternative method, but to avoid immature use I wont post it). Now. Normally I just run a shutdown -a (abort) on these little buggers, but lately they've gotten ballsy and have started typing the timer command and setting it to 00 so it shuts down instantly... No warning. Now, I tried doing a:
:LOOP
Shutdown -a
GOTO LOOP

in notepad and saving it as  a batch file and running it, then minimizing it to prevent these instant shutdowns, but it still shuts down. My friend supposedly made a batch that, when run once (no looping needed) will prevent any future instant -t 00 shutdowns. But (some friend he is  ) won't give me the code (He pulled it off the internet, but 3 different search engines have done nothing for me). I'm just wondering if anyone could provide some insight onto this? I considered putting shutdown -a into the shutdown folder but since all hard drive access is restricted by these crappy school computers, It is impossible (and I can't run safe mode since theres no registered accounts on the hard drives). I need the batch command for notepad to prevent any and all winXP -t 00 shutdowns. The alternative is to always break these little anklebiters' fingers but that would get me expelled. Help? Hints? PM Me if you have the answer.

start->all programs->accessories->communications->remote desktop connection

it doesnt solve your program, but if you know whose doing it you could get into their comp and ctrl+a+enter+enter(assuming you have some huge-ass programs that would slow it down) or do whatever the hell you want to it.

Its a 1500 student school and they've completely disabled just about all computer functionality save batch files. Hence why people have nothing better to do with their time but kill my machine when I'm actually doing something productive. As part of a retaliation, I found the computers that some of the turds doing it and disconnected their hard drives (hee hee) which also kept tech support busy for a month or more before they figured out what was going wrong with their computers. But what I want is the batch command. Somehow my friend made one and as mentioned before looping shutdown -a doesnt help with shutdown -t 00 cause it just terminates ALL running scripts, apps, and otherwise. What I want is the alternative, it's apparently a run once batch file that will prevent any and all unwanted shutdowns during the login session.

Ah. Feck it. I've found a NET STOP "Service" command, and I'll just stop any remote access services going to my machine.

Isn't there some port you can block? I don't know how windows does networking things such as this, but a firewall configured in the right way might prevent these worthless kiddies from turning your pc off remotely.

My school has shutdown -m disabled for lower level accounts (such as those of students), so I'm assuming your network could achieve the same thing. Just talk to your administrator, and hope (s)he's not an ass.

I just talked to them. They barely know how to make batch files :O
So what I did was disconnected from ze LAN, login as a temp which gave me unrestricted access. Then I deleted the Shutdown folder. So now those little bastards can't shut me down. Of course this means only way to shut down is by holding the power button, but I'm the only one at my school that shuts down properly anyways.
