Remember Ultima creator, Richard Gariott? yeah well, hes made a scifi game called Tabula Rasa- which closed down on February 28, 2009 , not well knwon to many because it was under advertised by NCsoft, and had lots of internal affairs in it. But you can find more of this game on google.

This is just a WIP project and tribute , which i started about 4 months ago, and have been slowly doing it on my spare time ever since.




The weapons here are ripped and resized directly from the game ui itself. But please hear me out, i am solely just wanting to stick to the actual game graphics itself.


As seen from here, im also working on the Reg interface- will also be working on unreg soon.

Sounds are about 70% done, including weapon and misc sounds.
Weapons gfx about 50%.
Gosteks will come in 6 sets- Graviton, Stealth, Reflective, Motor Assist, Bio, Mech and Hazmat Armor, each with its own sets of headstyles-Not attempted yet.

Adding to this, i might also add an alternate weapons selection, with a "Bane extension pack", inclusive of bane weapons,sounds and gosteks. Which will not happen till about month or two.


And i say again this is but a TRIBUTE to the most awesome scifi mmo ive ever played.

please comment and 'criticise'

Well the weapons are ripped but fit well... I hope you are making a good job on the other aspects of the mod not just graphically.
Isnt some weapons facing another direction?

no, all weapons( except for the pistol(s)) are faced to one direction, which is diagonally to the bottom left. Well, sound wise i think i did well, ive also replaced the default bloody, gore, and necro module files with TR soundtracks, and ive tested them repeatedly- They all work. I also want to add more things inside, bonuses included.


EDIT- Oh yes, overall bots difficulty has been increased, because now weapons are easier to aim and kill.

Tabula Rasa got shut down not too long after release. Kinda sad to see Garriott's big project go down in flames.

OFFTOPIC-

Yep, mainly caused from Nc's underadvertising, it was barely known among mmo players. Worse thing is,
he was forced( meaning that one or 2 members of NC allegedly wrote a letter of 'resignation' in gariotts name, mainly for stock market options) out of Ncsoft when he was under qurantined from his october space flight.

Alright, so, im about 70% done with this- excluding the gostek sets.

and ill be doing a quick release here.

Updates-

New Graviton armor gostek-

Compare with gostek shown above(not 100% accurate, i had other sources.)

New Sarah Morrison Gostek- (cover girl/main character in the game)




Completed 80% of weapons-gfx, as shown in pic. Spas 12 gfx not shown; not done yet.
Electric Staff has been replaced with the Polarity gun, essentially a large sized(and deadly) taser.
Adjusted serveral weapon stats for balancing.




NOTE(S)- Weapons 2, 3, 9, 0 look similar because they're based off one weapon, and improved from there on with different shapes+ they're also different variants of the original(2).

oh ues, i forgot. All gosteks will be made in grayscale(which unfortunately i suck at) except Sarah Morrison, who is shown in her original colours ( white)

EDIT- I do hope i finish this one soon too ;)

Sheesh, how do you manage to make the weapon sprites without a real top down sight on the weapons?

And it better be good aligned.
Last year, I dreamt I was pissing at a restroom, but I missed the urinal and my penis exploded.

well thats actually when i kinda ripped some weapon images from other sources to resize it down. I never did do anything for the interface-gfx. Resizing weapons to weapons-gfx size can be risky, due to loss of details, but it sure as hell does'nt make your weapon look like a lump.

Real problem not all weapon images are covered, so i would have to improvise on some parts, like 2,3,9 and 0. i mainly modified 2, to look like the others. I would have to do this, if i were to do an alternate weapon sets, or even all of them.

EDIT- well your quite right about the weapon alignment, but it does give the message. What bugs me is the sonic cannon jutts out of the weapon box

I have been working with Opacity on some of the stuff with my halo mod, so I'll make the "Zap" for your polarity gun.  ;)  (should the light be blue white etc...?)

Right. So heres TR Mod test 2. 90% done excluding gosteks.
TR Mod test 1 has been removed, don't bother going back there to download.

No screenshots here, since all updates are either based on sounds, ini, or gosteks(which are'nt even finished yet.)
